  1. The Central is going to be really damn tough next year. Not to say the Reds are going to contend for the division (at this point) but they will be a harder team to beat.
  2. Wow Kemp, Puig and Wood to Cin Welcome to LA Bryce
  3. Umm that sounds horrifying and bizarre At least now I can understand why they were hesitant to really explain what happened.
  4. Friend of a friend has good connections with a baseball agent and ive heard a couple times now that KB and Mrs KB are really pissed at both the cubs and boras for how they’re handling this. Grain of salt, obviously, but throwing it out there. Makes sense. In that article by Melisa she stated that Jessica was one of her best friends in the Cubs wives circle.
  5. I got the 2 pick the first time and the 1 pick the second time Edit: But yeah overall the new draft odds lead to some wonky results way too often for me to feel great about it. We could continue to suck so bad the rest of this season and have an almost 50% chance of having our pick be 5 or below.
  6. Yeah, blame the defense all you want but the offense did absolutely nothing all game. They did have a TD drive in the 1st quarter that was I believe 100% running plays, and a FG drive that was all of 14 yards long, but there was basically no offense the entire rest of the game for the Bears. wasn't the actual TD on that drive a pass to moose? of course, i could just look this up Duh...yeah sorry, everything but the actual TD was a running play Edit: It was a 52 yard run, 1 yard run, 0 yard run, and then the 4 yard TD pass
  7. Urlacher called the plays but Brown called all the audibles, setting up the secondary. Harris was having an all-pro year. We got hosed We did, but that SB was very winnable, especially after the Hester TD to open the game. Yeah, blame the defense all you want but the offense did absolutely nothing all game. They did have a TD drive in the 1st quarter that was I believe 100% running plays, and a FG drive that was all of 14 yards long, but there was basically no offense the entire rest of the game for the Bears.
  8. Is this actually from today? If so it looks like the comments are from Carl and Heyward
  9. I was at that game, it was like 3 degrees out. Soldier Field was crazy that night and thought Rex was going to lead them for a decade of dominance Same. I remember going to the bathroom at halftime and hearing them say Rex was warming up on the sidelines and everyone starting cheering and then when he came out on the field on the first drive the crowd was electric. I also remember that feeling like the peak of the 05-06 defenses. Vick just had like no chance of doing anything, it was awesome.
  10. I'll be honest until the last couple of days my thoughts on Russell being with the Cubs next year were that I wasn't happy at all about it, my opinion of the Cubs went down and if it were up to me he'd be gone, but I began to grudgingly accept it. However these last few days have made me realize that not only is Russell a terrible person but he's a raging sociopath who has no business being in society much less on a professional baseball team. He cannot step on the field again as a Chicago Cub.
  11. This is just horsefeathering unreal. [tweet] [/tweet]
  12. Let the backlash be swift and fierce in case they really haven’t finalized things.
  13. Buy a popular baseball team in a liberal city and use it to launch a conservative propaganda network that liberals will have to watch if they want to see their team. horsefeathers this
  14. They have to do at least 10 cool things if they are former Cardinals though. Unless the one cool thing is organizing a rain delay team meeting during Game 7 of the World Series.
  15. Was trying to find ways to somehow connect this to Bryce Harper: Descalso had the game tying hit with 2 outs in the 9th inning in Game 5 of the 2012 NLDS against the Nats. Probably Bryce Harper's best chance of playing in an NLCS to this point.
  16. Also a factor: Todd received his annual royalty check for his appearance on Undercover Boss a few years ago.
  17. I’m obsessed and I’m not even ashamed to admit it
  18. Except for the Patriots game. Yes we had the Hail Mary caught at the 1 but it took a bit of a last ditch comeback to even get to that point and even if we scored there it only ties the game. Plus Parkey wasn’t practicing at Soldier Field yet so he probably blows the PAT. But if that’s our most decisive defeat, we’ve had a pretty damn good season
  19. If I’m looking at this, the Vikings would need a win next week and then Washington, Carolina and Philly would all need at least one loss (Washington in Week 16, Carolina and Philly either this week or next). Washington is at Tennessee, Carolina has home games against NO and Atlanta, while Philly has this current game in LA and at home against Houston. (Also Minny is at Detroit). I don’t think it’s that big of a stretch that they clinch next week A win by WAS or PHI next week (if PHI holds on tonight) or a MIN loss makes week 17 technically relevant. A less likely Car win tomorrow and next week does as well. A SEA loss next week also keeps things open in the other direction (Min winning 5 seed). I certainly don't think it's a stretch that they clinch next week, but there are so many paths that lead to them not clinching and basically only one that does. I think I'd take the field. Yeah...when I posted that, the Rams Eagles game was still up in the air. If they lost and Car tomorrow it would have just been Vikings win and Redskins loss to clinch
  20. If it's locked in as Bears/Vikings for the first round of the playoffs, that game is definitely going to be very much like last game of the pre-season. As a noon game, it's doubtful to be locked in at kickoff, but may not be the end of the game. 21. Was thinking a Rams loss tonight would make things interesting for a bye but they finish with Arizona and SF. Bears would have to win out and hope one of those teams could beat them.
  22. Barring a Rams or Saints collapse, the Bears will play on Wild Card Weekend for the first time since 1994
