It looks like Machado is thinking, and there is a light bulb above his head. Almost like hes hanging out with Almora and Schwarbs and realizes that he should probably do the Dawson blank check thing and sign with the Cubs. -

They actually got a player this time who has a non-zero value. Is it the 3.6 per or the 0.383 TS% I don’t expect him to be any good at all but he’s not some 37 year old vet or some euroleague draft pick that’s never coming over. He has at least a minute amount of potential. Thus non-zero value

Because almost all of his tweets are not of interest to this thread and he has a twitter feed we can read if we want to read his tweets that aren’t about Bryce Harper.

Bryant to San Diego seems like an even better narrative fit than Harper to Chicago. 3 years from now he comes back to the town he played college ball in, to fulfill his hashtag #back2backoneday with Harper. I'm going to go stand outside in a t-shirt to punish my brain for conjuring this depressing thought.

Not sure if it’s legit but it doesn’t surprise me. Also Vegas shooting the Phillies World Series odds to on par with the Cubs and Dodgers. Also the picture found of custom Harper Phillies bats made by Harpers bat company. Just a lot of smoke out there right now but still just rumors until a national guy breaks it

Rumors say 8Mil+ per year. Hopefully for the sake of cap space, it's structured like 6, 6, 10, 10, with 12 guaranteed. But assuming it's not, only room for only 1 of Callahan/Amos. All 11 starters on offense are back, whether you count Miller or Shaheen as the 11th. Throw in Cohen and your top 14 are back on O. Defense has 10 of 11 starters back (9 of 11 if you call Callahan a starter and not a 3rd DL). Other than Amos, Callahan and Lynch every other contributor on D is due back in 2019. Bring one of the DBs back, and you're looking at going into the offseason needing competition for 1 starter on D (w/ Bush if Callahan back, w/ McManis if Amos back), a punter, and the rest are deep depth needs, with emphasis likely on a 3rd OLB, a backup guard, a backup DB. If choosing between Amos and Callahan what is your preference? Remembering the revolving door we’ve had at safety until recently I’m definitely leaning Amos. Also the fact that he’s on the field more and is not coming off a quasi significant injury.

I hate that the Big Ten added these Friday night games to the schedule. I'm used to 1 Michigan game between Tuesday and Thursday and then another on Saturday or Sunday. Friday just throws me off and I will probably forget the game is on until there are like 10 mins left in the game.

The fact that they are already working out kickers makes me believe that they will cut him when the new league year starts. If they were signing UDFAs and stuff, I'd think they were preparing for a preseason competition.

And is no contest the best closer in MLB history. There are discussions about who the best player was at each MLB position throughout history. Not so for closer. Sure I’m not saying he doesn’t deserve to be in. Just think it’s funny that he was the first unanimous one and not one of the 100+ players who accumulated more value over their careers
