  1. Apparently Amos is going to the Packers...
  2. Hmm after getting hyped by the names mentioned that seems underwhelming. Still 4.6 YPC last year and 34 receptions last year in a running back by committee, probably a good bet to bring surplus value. Wonder how he is as a blocker
  3. I mean Bell would be a great fit but I am not versed enough with the Bears present and future cap room to say its a good or bad move. At the very least the guarantees in a deal should be gone by the time Mitch is extended.
  4. That was more entertaining than I thought it'd be. The sequence ending in "hey Jess are you employed?" was great. Is KB trying to show he's street by pretending to prefer hip hop over country?
  5. Dammit Cubs stop being likable, I’m not done hating you yet. At least I can like individual things about the Cubs still
  6. The Big East is so damn strange this season. Nova and Marquette all the sudden can’t win after looking unbeatable at points this season (moreso Marquette). Seton Hall looks left for dead after some bad losses then goes and beats Marquette and Nova and look safe all the sudden. Xavier was freaking terrible all year but now they are in the fringes of the bubble discussion, Butler looked like a pretty good bet to make tourney and now they are almost certainly out without making the BE title game. Georgetown loses to horsefeathering DePaul by 32 points the other day and then today beats Marquette. I guess you could rationalize it all by saying the conference just isn’t very good as a whole but still. Rollercoaster all season
  7. I think its interesting that they are going to experiment with banning the shift
  8. A Q1 game is a home game against a team whose Net Ranking is 1-30, or a neutral game against 1-50 or road game against 1-75. Michigan played Iowa on the road while MSU played them home and away, with the home game being Q2.
  9. I am going to predict Illinois does not get a 9 seed. I’ll play assuming I have time next weekend. Sounds like a fun change from past years.
  10. If the best possible lottery odds would be stating in 4th, a game ahead of the Cavs, then the Bulls did nothing to hurt themselves last night. The Bulls have been in 4th for the last two months, they'll likely be 4th in a month, and there's no chance they fall out of the top 5. The only damage the Bulls do by playing well is making it less likely that a regime change will happen. Best possible odds are top 3. But also the value of being higher is you can’t drop as far. Right now Bulls can pick from 1-7, if they don’t pass the Cavs they get 1.5% higher odds of #1, 4% better odds of finishing top 4, and can’t fall farther than 7th. Not a huge gain but I’d prefer to be in that position if possible.
  11. Yeah sorry to be that guy that complains about an exciting win but we could have moved to within a half game of the best possible lottery odds
  12. Somehow only the 10th worst thing the Cubs have done this winter
  13. That interview was so horsefeathering depressing. We're stuck with GarPax. What the horsefeathers is wrong with the owners of sports teams in this city?
  14. This has to be a joke. Was Tom Miskick unavailable?
  15. Sort of relevant
  16. And even then he would be contractually obligated to work on at TD Ameritrade during the offseason.
  17. Man, given what we know about this FO and the owners now, I'm pretty it was actually a selling point for them. Yeah it’s funny, back then I had this mistaken belief that the Cubs FO would never acquire a player with baggage like that but now it seems like an annual tradition.
  18. Yea, end of inning would be better, and arguably save more time. Starting pitcher gets into trouble one out in, so you bring in a reliever to close out the inning. Why not let that switch happen the next half inning. (assuming he went two batters, two outs) . Otherwise they can face another batter the next inning and then get pulled, introducing another mid inning pitching switch, where today they'd probably pull the guy after those two outs today. I'm pretty sure the rule was written to be 3 batters or end of inning. Not sure if its changed recently but that's how it was being discussed last month.
  19. Yeah if this goes in to place that seems like the simple answer. Maybe not DL but can’t pitch in the next 2-3 games at least. Maybe a 3 day restricted list or something. I don't think they should immediately go on the 10 day DL as some of the injuries will be real and I don't want to lose a key reliever for 10 days because he had muscle cramps or something.
  20. They could just dance every time there is a large cheer just in case there is a HR
  21. Yeah I agree, its terrible. We bring Carl in and its clear right away that its one of his "doesn't have it" games. We have to sit there and watch him walk the bases loaded before we can bring in another pitcher? Stupid. Plus what Derwood pointed out about how a team can bring in a pitcher and watch the other teams manager use pinch hitters that give them much better matchups and the other manager cant do anything about it. Theo better be looking to build a pen with guys that don't have dramatic splits.
  22. Yet. Losing yesterday would have really helped. Now instead of 5 games clear we are 3 games. If the Bulls continue to win 58% of their games which they have over their last 12, we could drop (I know, they won’t). Don’t get me wrong, there is legitimate value to building chemistry and developing a winning culture. It’s huge. But so is getting Zion lol
  23. Assume that GarPax won’t tank. Is this lineup with 1-2 bench reinforcements in FA a playoff team next year, Morant/FA/Arch LaVine/Valentine/Selden Porter/Hutchison Markkanen/FA Carter Jr/Lopez (supposedly bulls want him back) To throw some random names in for FAs let’s say Elfrid Payton at PG and Marvin Williams at PF. Just picked those names because they can both shoot and play defense and Payton can step in at starter if not ready to start Morant yet. That team is at least as good as like the Hornets who are currently the 8th seed in the east right? Edit: ok maybe someone other than Marvin Williams as he has a player option and is not going to decline to be a bench player on the Bulls
  24. It was actually an entertaining game to watch but that was a pretty bad win overall to the team directly ahead of them in the standings
