  1. OK 2 more from that unclutch dude (75% of this awesomeness of this HR is Strops strut down the 3B line) And of course this one made possible by a bullpen implosion: How about MLB debut HRs? One of Javy's 11 PAs that didnt end in a strikeout his rookie season: I miss the awesome raw power and strength of Jorge And of course our old friend Starlin (sorry the audio sucks):
  2. I really needed this thread. It still boggles my mind that we have so many awesome postseason highlights to rewatch after only having a couple my entire life. I know we lost this one but we won the series, making these 2 HRs awesome: And of course Mr. Unclutch turns around the World Series with this HR https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5CX3sq5OMw And finally, what might be one of the best regular season HRs ever
  3. I just don't understand why Machado wouldn't take less guaranteed money and no opt outs to join them.
  4. Almost certainly how this is going to turn out for Almora:
  5. why would you not believe that? 93.5 wins would be a very high projection. by zips it would be the highest in the NL this year. yeah i'd say the unbelievable projection for them to get right would have been 2016. True, I was basing off the premise that 2016 was accurately predicted, but I guess you are right, its even more implausible that it spit out 101.5-104.5 wins
  6. I'm not sure I believe their system spit out somewhere between 90.5 and 93.5 wins going into 2017 (though he did say just about every year). Even its just lip service, its nice to hear though.
  7. [tweet]https://twitter.com/HuddleSportz/status/1098443407939186688[/tweet] Yeah I know "Prime Time Sports" is questionable but apparently they were reporting the Machado/Padres deal before it was widely reported
  8. I think I read that the 2nd wild card is on pace for 82 points which would be 5 points less than the next worst playoff team since they changed the standings to the W-L-OTL format after the lost lockout season. Only 2 playoff teams have finished with less than 90 points (one of them was the Flyers team that lost to the hawks in the SCF)
  9. Bryant healthy is just like adding a MVP! I was pegging him to play the Mookie Betts role in my head
  10. Blowing a 3 goal 3rd period lead is not exactly a great way to announce to the world that you are playoff caliber
  11. Colorado is playing tonight. They need to lose in regulation (coupled with a hawks win) for the hawks to end the night in a playoff spot. If Colorado gets 1 point they are tied but COL has a game in hand. It’s still crazy to me that I’m talking about Blackhawks and playoffs.
  12. Half baked thought that probably can be torn apart: I was thinking that this year’s Cubs reminds me of the Red Sox coming into last year. Coming off a successful season but one that felt like a disappointment as several of their young players under performed, there was a general power outage (yes Chili being the link) and the team was stomped out of the playoffs quickly leaving many fans critical of the team’s direction and leadership. The next year a lot of the things that went wrong previously went right and the team had a historic World Series season. Obviously the big difference I can immediately see is that the Cubs decided that they were broke instead of ponying up for a JD Martinez caliber player
  13. Meanwhile Zobrist is still not in camp...
  14. I know they go pretty deep in the depth charts on these write ups, but I never would have anticipated seeing Chris Coghlan mentioned in this article.
  15. Wasnt sure where this fit, so I'm putting it here.
  16. Not very likely, but I could totally see them coming out of nowhere and giving Harper a massive (compared to the other teams) offer to sign with them. They keep downplaying the importance of signing one of those 2, but its possible they actually get a bit desperate with 1 off the board.
  17. Will be interesting to see how the Padres go from here. They have a ton of talent coming up, but almost certainly there will be holes they need to shore up along the way. After Hosmer last year, Myers' extension kicking in next year and now Machado, will they have the money available to fix up those holes? Presumably yes but you never know with how the MLB operates these days.
  18. Unfortunately, the NBA trade deadline passed and the Bulls weren't able to negotiate a buyout for RoLo so they had a ceiling.
  19. So now the Phillies do everything they can to get Harper and the White Sox are shut out
  20. I never realized Brian is a David burner account
  21. Zo is the only one that I’ve heard is not yet at camp and the reason is something they called “personal issues” Someone was saying they haven’t seen Heyward in photos since last week but I find it hard to believe the media wouldn’t have noticed/reported Heyward missing the past few days Edit: nvm re: Heyward there are photos of him there yesterday
  22. I know it’s not happening and I’ve sort of made peace with it but how hated would the Cubs be, first after these despicable off the field issues and then after hearing Phillies, Nats, White Sox were the Harper suitors all offseason the Cubs swoop in and get him
  23. Some replies to others on twitter
