  1. I was relaxed about this game until I saw Pressly in. Again I know his overall numbers are decent but he just doesn’t make me comfortable. and just like that a HR and a single
  2. Damn, thought that might be gone. Either way nice contact off a lefty for Busch. He seems to keep getting better against them
  3. Or if any of the OFers need a day off or god forbid injuries, it opens up Suarez at DH and Shaw at 3B. You can probably get him 3 starts a week still.
  4. Ironically this was posted 15 mins ago: honestly I’m not sure how I’d feel, it would depend on the other moves we made. We’d still need a minimum of 1 starter and pen arm. As for Shaw, very encouraging and the smart people can tell us how sustainable it is, but the Cubs lineup could definitely use a power hitting right handed batter with 3 of the 4 best power hitters being lefty. If you can get a guy who could hit 50 HRs this year for the middle of the order it’s enticing even if it puts a pause on Shaw’s rise imo. It makes the Cubs lineup that much more difficult to pitch to when you can mix in another righty power bat But at the same time I won’t complain if the Cubs like what they see from Shaw and don’t pull the trigger on upgrading 3B. Offense isn’t generally a problem for the Cubs.
  5. but I was told the season is over and we should all find something else to do with our lives
  6. The one downside of this new righty lineup is the top of the order consists of 3 lefties in the first 4 batters which leaves the Cubs susceptible against teams with good lefties in their pen. Not that a non-slumping Tucker is bad against lefties, but PCA and Busch are both noticeably worse against lefties. Its definitely something teams can exploit late in games. Though ideally the Cubs have a big lead because they load up the lineup with power hitting lefties earlier in the game against a righty starter.
  7. lol I was kidding, going along with the 'were not going to give Ian Happ any credit' theme
  8. Good point, don't want Shaw coming up with no one on base
  9. It's been known to happen. Don't know if every young pitcher is shut down. If the Cubs are planning to shut him down eventually, perhaps its a good idea to stretch him out a day like today when he's thrown 6 shutout innings.
  10. No doubt he's been pretty off lately and its super frustrating but fans are saying Tucker is actually terrible
  11. Do you try to get a 7th out of Horton knowing that a dreaded bullpen game awaits tomorrow?
  12. At least we're not the Tigers, about to be 1-12 in their last 13
  13. Cubs twitter is starting to turn on Kyle Tucker hard lol
  14. 3rd time around the order, opportunity to put a lefty in there during a stretch of 3/4 left handed hitters
  15. Horrible time for a team wide slump with a big series in Milwaukee starting Monday.
  16. Are we gonna get perfect gamed? Just doesn’t feel like this offense is ready to do anything today
