  1. So annoying that the lead was cut in half by an error, groundout and sac fly
  2. Feel free to suggest witty titles for me to edit
  3. Bryant should have just opted out to preserve his FA value
  4. I mean, this is the same horsefeathers they've been doing for the last 4 years right? So no surprise there, but still obviously frustrating.
  5. So other than Hendricks and Darvish, who do we feel good about in the rotation?
  6. I hope he keeps up that .443 wOBA Assuming he doesnt, even a drop off from that level makes him an all star caliber player
  7. Yeah I was actually going to ask if that was a legit rumor because I keep seeing it all over twitter from sources I don't recognize. I'm guessing Day and Harbaugh are putting pressure on college presidents to play as they've both been vocal about wanting to play and having the proper protocols in place. Obviously we know Nebraska and Iowa want to play. I think Franklin has been pretty open about playing too. I'd love to have B1G football this year if done right but I'm not sure I can handle 2 losses to Ohio State in one season...
  8. Aww man now Schwarber swings at a run scoring ball 4
  9. Honestly it really wasn't even that surprising. His pitch to K Fowler was a thing of beauty. Yeah I just saw on my phone it was loaded with 0 outs, then went to go do something and then checked a few minutes later to see how many the Cards scored and was pleasantly surprised to see 0
  10. And right on time Schwarber sees a fast ball dead center of the plate on a 3-1 count and watches it. Edit: and then he homers on 3-2 lmao
  11. Ok we are even now with failing to score in bases loaded less than 2 out situations
  12. lol wait Yu got out of a bases loaded 0 out situation? Nice
  13. Man these quirky new rules for the 2020 season...
  14. August 16, 2016 vs Milwaukee. I believe one of those games was the one where KB had the 3 HR, 2 double game. Since then, every double header we’ve had except for 1 has been split. Another oddity I noticed when looking up that stat: the Cubs played 0 doubleheaders last year. Weird KB hit the full house vs CIN Weird, no idea how I got that mixed up. He did have a 5-5 2 HR game in the Milwaukee series though. I miss KB being an Uber elite hitter

  16. Cherry picking stats at a particularly bad time (during a 4 maybe 5 game losing streak) but if they fall today they will be 6-1 against the Pirates and Royals and 7-7 against everyone else including 3-6 against the Brewers and Cardinals. Yes hey it’s me, I do this horsefeathers from time to time
  17. Sunday - 5 runs on 4 hits Monday 1 - 1 run on 3 hits (7 innings) Monday 2 - 1 run on 0 hits (through 3) I was hoping we wouldn’t regress to the streaky sometimes anemic Cubs offense but perhaps we are hitting one of those stretches right now when it seems nearly impossible for the Cubs to score runs
  18. This is starting to feel like that 4 gamer last September.
  19. And that was the game started by an actual pitcher in the rotation
  20. What’s everyone getting so defeated about, we still have 9 outs to come back. Oh wait
  21. Man Javy has been so disappointing at the plate this year. I’m sure he will get it together at some point
  22. Really tough to watch when things aren’t going well for him. Maybe move him down in the lineup for a bit until he gets it going
  23. Maybe we are celebrating the end of this window of contention by reliving the whole window in a 60 game season. Start out winning a ton with great starting pitching and defense with solid hitting, then the pitching and fielding wanes and team makes dumb plays and commits outs on the bases. Offense takes turns slumping leaving gaps in the order making it difficult to score a ton of runs. Still good but can’t shake the feeling of disappointment. I’m mostly kidding, it’s just 3 games after a terrific start. But can’t like what we’ve seen out there this weekend
  24. Yardley came in and threw balls on 10 of his first 11 pitches, however due to bad calls and bad swings, all the Cubs have gotten out of it so far is a HBP
  25. Somewhere Randall Grichuk looks defeated knowing that he is no longer the only terrible player that gets 98% of hIs production against the Cubs
