  1. This is feeling like 2016 with the starting pitching. Great start every night. I know we’ve been facing some crappy offensive teams lately but still.
  2. This raises so many questions for me: 1) Was the league financially viable in year 1 before COVID shut it down? 2) If so, why is Vince selling it? I don't know a ton about bankruptcy, is this something you have to do when you declare bankruptcy and you don't want it to touch your other assets? 3) If not financially viable, what is the value of owning a league that only lasted 1/2 a season, has little brand recognition and is attempting to produce a spring football league which many have done and all failed in the past? 4) I'm pretty sure Dwyane and Vince have a close relationship.. is Vince still going to have any involvement in the league? I thought this quote I found was interesting from an old interview:
  3. How many IP does he have to have this year to trigger the option year? I remember reading that prorated it would be difficult to do but possible. I’d hate that this deformed excuse for a season was his last as a Cub, but I believe the option year is like $5m more than his salary this year
  4. 2.5 game division lead and 3 game playoff lead with 51 to play!
  5. Better score here because Dyson is basically on 3rd to start the next inning
  6. Like I said, no one knows how to strand a leadoff double better than the Cubs lol
  7. He is horsefeathering awful How can you be this bad at hitting and on an ML roster?
  8. And the most critical AB of the game will be taken by...Albert Almora
  9. I just realized that starting and inning with a runner on 2nd with 0 outs is a low key way to screw over the Cubs
  10. Edit: and now confirmed. Respect opting out but weird way to opt out by completely ghosting the team.
  11. really hope he’s ok
  12. Seriously Lester had 49 pitches through 2 I believe and is now at 89 through 6. Great job by Jon
  13. Really nice tribute to pitchers hitting by having Almora bat 9th
  14. Completely agreed. I have also enjoyed the extra innings rule, but I don’t actually want it implemented long term. Hate the 3 batter minimum overall but have enjoyed when an opposing pitcher is forced to face a Cubs batter with favorable splits
  15. Either way, he started the game looking like he’d have trouble going 4 innings and he’s already past 5 innings with just the 1 allowed. Great recovery by him
  16. What was that about Brault only going 3 today?
  17. Jon having trouble throwing strikes...gonna see a lot of bullpen today at this rate with all the pitches thrown
  18. Cubs just need to go 19-4 to match their 2016 start of 25-6 Record after 8 games since they started being good 2015: 5-3 2016: 7-1 2017: 5-3 2018: 4-4 2019: 2-6 2020: 6-2
  19. Someone pointed out to me when he’s catching he has one knee on the ground instead of a squat so that’s interesting Too bad he’s not catching today
  20. Little concerning that Votto is also on the IL now for reporting coronavirus symptoms. It can take a few days for someone to test positive if exposed. That said, if he is already showing symptoms and is still negative then he's probably ok.
  21. I’ve never seen anything like this
  22. Shocker, bullpen actively trying to blow a comfortable win
  23. I know Jeffress got out of the jam in Cincinnati but the dude was struggling to throw strikes. Makes me very nervous
