  1. Strop had 126 MLB innings pitched over 4.5 seasons before coming to the Cubs including an all star caliber season with Baltimore in 2012 Am I having the ultimate brain fart on Marshall or did you mean Sean Marshall who had been with the Cubs since 2006 and was traded before he ever played a game under Theo? Rondon is a good call and now that I’m thinking obviously their greatest development was getting Jake into a cy young pitcher. But overall the track record isn’t great at all imo I didn’t realize Pedro was decent for a year or two before coming over, I thought he was bad like Jake. But I guess they identified him. I meant Sean Marshall and Theo traded him, did he not? After they turned him in to a bullpen arm full time and he was successful? But yeah the overall track record isn’t great but he’s always built decent pens once they tried to win starting in 2015. 2015-19 Cubs relievers have the 11 most WAR, 3rd lowest ERA, 8th lowest FIP, 7th lowest xFIP. No Marshall was traded in 2011, the offseason that Theo took over, so he never actually played under Theo. You are right though about the overall success of the pen. It just seems like we have so many guys that come up from the minors and have horrific troubles throwing strikes.
  2. Pedro, Hector, Marshall they all kinda developed Strop had 126 MLB innings pitched over 4.5 seasons before coming to the Cubs including an all star caliber season with Baltimore in 2012 Am I having the ultimate brain fart on Marshall or did you mean Sean Marshall who had been with the Cubs since 2006 and was traded before he ever played a game under Theo? But overall the track record isn’t great at all imo Edit: and Hendricks duh. Sometimes when I get a negative thought I block out obvious facts
  3. Super disappointed Rossy pulled him. Legitimately wanted to see how many runs Maples would have allowed before getting an out
  4. Other than Carl, are maples and Underwood the most prominent bullpen arms Theo’s org has “developed”? Boggles my mind how little we’ve got from homegrown pitchers
  5. Sucks that we pulled our best hitters there, could have really made it interesting
  6. I wonder if Theo was taking a wait and see approach to the pen, hoping that a few arms would emerge either on the team or in the minors. If not, they could either play the waiver wire or trade market. Plan is kind of shot because I don’t think a lot of impact arms will be available at the deadline so improvement has to come from within
  7. Wow you can’t suck this hard if you tried to
  8. Figured tonight would be a tough one. Didn’t expect Kyle to look so blah though.
  9. He never tested positive, he just had symptoms. But based on the protocol set with the PA, he wasn’t supposed to be allowed to play until tomorrow, but he filed an appeal and they allowed him to play today and now he’s hurt the Cubs
  10. Moustakas is going to be a major factor if the Reds are going to be any good this year.
  11. There is no way that is right. I think it’s 54 for the division. Wild card shouldn’t be that much different
  12. It’s early but can’t like that 1-4 start if you are a White Sox fan
  13. Come on can’t we just have an easy finish and a decent day from the pen?
  14. If 31-29 gets you in the playoffs, which I believe it will, we are looking at needing to go 27-28 the rest of the way haha
  15. Man I really wish we could have tried to get another inning from Mills
  16. Knew that dude would have at least one bomb against us. Dammit, 2 outs and no one on leads to 2 runs
  17. I’m really enjoying the new strategy of “getting hits with runners in scoring position”
  18. Now being denied...sorry for the probably false alarm
  19. That is legitimately the funniest thing to happen to the Bears since the double doink. This nfl season isn’t happening Edit: this dude just appears to be some rando college kid with no real sources I can swear I've seen him break something before, but I could be wrong. FWIW, Aaron Lemming (another twitter guy with a shaky reputation) was also saying before this that he's heard there is an offensive player on the Bears that plans to opt out. That either means "Greg" is connecting the dots and Foles just seems like a likely person considering he has a newborn, or there is smoke here. We'll see.
  20. Not sure whether to laugh or cry https://twitter.com/GregWilliams28/status/1288199057454686208
  21. Huge COVID loss that could alter the season
