  1. Almora’s AB with a runner on second 0 outs down 1. Pitch 2 was a bunt attempt
  2. Everyone’s favorite sample size manipulator is back Mills last 4 starts (inc today): 8.05 ERA Chatwood last 2 starts: 24.55 ERA Lester last 3 starts: 8.59 ERA Hendricks last 6 starts: 5.14 ERA Hard to win when your starting pitching is like that and your offense is hitting under .200 over the last 15 games.
  3. I almost forgot all our other starters suck
  4. Man Yu is getting hit hard for someone who has yet to allow a run
  5. If that botched squibber to Darvish with 2 outs leads to runs...
  6. So we need a better Theo then? Because it took him 3 years of tanking. Or are you suggesting something that isn’t a complete gut? In that case which current Cubs are still on your roster in 2022? These are the players on the current roster that are under contract for the 2022 season: Heyward Darvish Hendricks Bote Contreras (Walk year) Almora (Walk year) Kyle Ryan Rhea Tepera Hoerner Alzolay Caratini And a bunch of less notable pre-arb pen and bench guys Possible extension candidates: Rizzo Bryant Baez Schwarber Happ seems like a pretty big omission here. He will be in his 2nd year of arbitration. This is why I’m the ideas man! Yeah somehow missed him

  8. Sorry for anyone who clicked here hoping to see my plan. I’m not an ideas guy. But I am very interested in this topic. I have thought a lot about it and I have no horsefeathering clue how to fix the Cubs short and long term. The team is mediocre, is apparently maxed out on spending, all of their young talent that have proven to be quality big leaguers are out of here after 21(besides Contreras and Happ) so their value has dipped (not counting guys like Hendricks who issigned to post-arb contract). The farm system is still pretty meh and the team has shown very little ability to develop raw talent over the past 5 seasons. I think this season is shot, next season is probably shot. They may be 85 win teams so I guess it could be worse but it’s not the team set up for success at all long term and after next year is ready to fall off a cliff if nothing is done. If you were Theo and you weren’t allowed to bolt (which could definitely happen), how would you change the course of the franchise around by 2022?
  9. With the way the rest of the rotation is, it really hurts when one of the 2 legit good starters you have has an off game. Darvish will have a tough one against Bauer against the Cubs putrid offense tomorrow and then we get the butt end of the rotation the next few games
  10. Lol 2nd straight game trying to make a miraculous 9th inning rally from a 4 run deficit.
  11. The Cubs have officially allowed more runs than they’ve scored this season
  12. Including tonight, the Cubs are batting .198 as a team over their last 13 games
  13. Yeah it would have been the next season based on Theo's comments about taking money from next year's FA budget to sign him, maybe we would have signed someone like Kuechel and had money to spare compared to the Darvish contract. But we desperately needed a TOR pitcher and for the last 1.5 years Yu has been pitching like an ace so I'm satisfied with how it ended up.
  14. Just read it too. horsefeathers the Astros. I had kind of forgotten about that horsefeathers that Gurriel had done. And then 22 batters faced and 0 Ks... for Yu Darvish? And they all just yukked it up as they cheated their way to the title saying he was tipping pitches. Absolute joke of a championship. Completely agree though I don't think Yu is a Cub if that didn't happen..and that is a scary thought with the rest of our rotation outside of Hendricks.
  15. More Yu love, this time from the Ringer. Not a ton of new info but still a good read: https://www.theringer.com/mlb/2020/8/28/21403445/yu-darvish-cubs-resurgence
  16. As exciting as this would be, why would Strop drive from Cincinnati to Chicago to sign with the Cubs when the Cubs are in...Cincinnati?
  17. I mean that definitely looks like I-65 north of Lafayette
  18. Urlacher is cancelled https://twitter.com/bearsfanatico94/status/1299027378178580481?s=21
  19. I honestly don't know why anyone watches their games hoping they'll lose. It only serves to piss you off. Twitter filled me in, not too interested in watching Cardinals voodoo magic
  20. Randy Rosario just blew a 3 run lead with 2 outs in the 9th to the Cardinals
  21. lol Rizzo just missed giving the Cubs the lead
  22. Cubs run differential for the season is currently 27 runs lower than the number of teammates that left J-Hey out to dry tonight
