  1. done now per passan. Also this:
  2. Fun one on Sunday Night Baseball. The Braves went up 10-0 with a 10 run second inning. Phillies have since gotten it back to 10-8, still only in the 4th Unfortunately our old friend Jake started for Philly, allowing 7 ER in 1.1 IP. His season ERA is 6.49
  3. Well GABP has been a tough place for the Cubs the last couple of years (I think) so it’s good to see them finish 4-3 there and a Kimbrel implosion from 5-2
  4. Holy crap that’s actually really cool
  5. Just coming to say this. Have needed this for a long time. Bats are coming alive with the dongs. I will not be fooled that all our problems are fixed but it’s good to see
  6. 5 run lead and our reliever can’t throw horsefeathering strikes This post could have easily have been made in 2017, 2018, 2019 or 2020
  7. .997 OPS against LHP last year
  8. I mean that’s great and all but most of that money coming off the books is basically our team. Meaning we won’t have spending money to supplement the holes on our roster, we will need all that money to build a roster because our farm system hasn’t produced horsefeathers recently. If the Ricketts family insists on a spending cap, the Cubs either need to develop talent or hit nearly 100% on their FA signings, 2 areas that the Cubs haven’t exactly been good at for the past few years.
  9. In a short series, a locked in Hendricks and Darvish can be deadly. I'm fairly bullish on our chances in the postseason, although admittedly it'll probably also take at minimum Kimbrel to be in badass mode. About that...
  10. I just remembered Almora’s horrific at bat with runners on 1st and 3rd in the 5th. I’m going to pretend the Cubs would have won if a baseball player that isn’t terrible at everything was batting
  11. Hey, at least one of your wife's friends isn't in the hospital after a domestic issue, and her kid is having an emergency sleep over at your place. Bright side for me, Totoro was probably 1000% better viewing than the 7th inning. Ugh I’m really sorry to hear that. horsefeathers domestic abusers
  12. Probably because the actor that depicted Robinson in the movie 42 died yesterday. I hadn't seen an announcement about that move, but that makes sense. Man, I hate that we signed Kimbrel. I wonder how we would have used that money if we didn’t sign him. Probably would have gone to Trump 2020
  13. I realize he’s one of the best closers of his generation but I have no idea why we were rushing him into high pressure situations after a couple of acceptable outings. There are other options to close games now that have mostly been fine. When Kimbrel is off he’s a horsefeathering disaster and even in games where he got the job done, it’s been clear his control isn’t there
  14. So glad I rushed my kids to bed to make sure I got to catch the bottom of the 7th
  15. Man it’s impossible to sweep a double header
  16. To his credit, Kimbrel was all over the horsefeathering place it’s got to be hard to anticipate where the ball is going to go.
  17. Whoops, Brewers just won. Throw all your hate on me if the Cubs also lose Edit: actually blame Kimbrel No I blame you. And Kimbrel. Well 10 mins ago we were set up for 4.5 and 5.5. Now we end the night at 3.5 and 3.5
  18. Not sure if serious... They did last night, that's why I'm asking. (At least I thought they did.) I don’t remember. But horsefeathers it Jackie Robinson is such a hero, they could wear 42 every game and I’d be fine with it.
  19. Whoops, Brewers just won. Throw all your hate on me if the Cubs also lose Edit: actually blame Kimbrel
  20. Cubs have allowed the leadoff man to reach in 5 of the 7 innings tonight including the last 2 nursing a 1 run lead
  21. Pirates up 6-5 vs Milwaukee in the 9th. If that score holds and this one holds, the Cubs will be up 4.5 games in the division and 5.5 games up on a playoff spot somehow
  22. Now with a runner on 3rd and 1 out with the Cubs up 1 he swings wildly at 2 straight pitches several inches outside the strike zone for a K. He’s not a major league player and needs to be in South Bend
