  1. So much for the “MLB called the game so they could have the Cubs on in prime time Saturday” theory
  2. Yes but hypothetically Saturday is Kyle's bullpen day if we need to give him 20 pitches. That would put our rotation in disarray and have someone like Mills or Quintana starting game 1, but most likely everyone is pitching once in a 5 game series with no off days anyways. Won’t one of Mills/Q/Adbert have to start DS Game 1 anyways with the off days? Thought there’s only 1 day off in between series (so they start Sunday?) Hendricks would be on short rest then. I thought the LDS started on Tuesday or Wednesday. They need a few days to get to the bubble and get tested before playing. Edit: NLDS starts Tuesday, goes until Saturday.
  3. Not exactly the same thing, but in a similar boat - I want to point out that Carlos Zambrano is still ready to pitch Game 4 against the DBacks.
  4. Really appreciate the Reds trying to make us feel better about our offense (which I don't - it still blows)

  6. And the not good at all Cardinals have a playoff win
  7. To make it even more embarrassing when we lose tomorrow, apparently Marte has a broken hand and is out for the rest of the series
  8. How can you forget Almora actually being a good enough baseball player to PH in a situational spot and getting a key hit? Or Rizzo screaming 'respect me!' after hitting a 150 ft popup that fell in between 3 fielders to win the game? Game 1 was pretty ho hum for a win, Game 2 we were Bryce Harpered, and G4 Michael Tucker was a thing.
  9. Excellent title. Come back GR, we finally hate Rossy as much as you do! For much more rational reasons but still.
  10. I know you are captain pessimist but honestly you are saying what I've been thinking. But I've been known to be pretty pessimistic myself. None of the Marlins players scare me offensively, Yu should be able to mow them down for 7-8 innings. Who knows in Game 3. I'd still much prefer a bullpen style game, but maybe that's what we'd get even if BD John pitches. So there is definitely room for optimism, but at the same time the result of this playoffs could have been a lot worse than feebly getting swept by the Marlins.
  11. And you know what, if that's true it was horsefeathering worth it i think he meant the nlds against the nats Duh, and the one I was thinking of was not even a G5. That was slightly less worth it but the luck was probably better placed. This team wouldnt know what to do with luck
  12. 4 whole hits today. I'd say that's disappointing but that's basically our average output per game over the last few weeks.
  13. And you know what, if that's true it was horsefeathering worth it
  14. That is your take away from this? 6 scoreless innings from Hendricks wasn't good enough? They are both starting a game one way or another. yu may have pitched 7 scoreless, because he is better. also doesn't yu starting game 2 mean he wouldn't have been able to start the nlds until game 2? it doesn't really matter, but there was absolutely no reason for it. it's a stupid ass galaxy brain move by ross. if you have a cy young winner and he's rested and healthy, you start him first. None this matters if the Cubs didnt have the absolute worst offense I've ever seen from a playoff team ever.
  15. Love KB getting the product placement in and chugging a Red Bull as he walks by the dugout camera. Get that can on the air while you can Kris.
  16. Marlins exit velocities last inning: 45.6 102.2 102.7 105.4 104.0 97.7 107.7 The ones over 100 mph were the 5 hardest hit balls in the game so far.
  17. Looks like Jeffress' results are starting to match his near 5.00 FIP
  18. At least we won't be the first team eliminated lol
  19. Cubs will be 3-7 in the last 10 playoff games at Wrigley if they drop this. No bueno
  20. Ross should be a one and done manager. Not interested on him figuring horsefeathers out next year in potentially the last year of our competitive window
  21. Definitely got to be his last inning if he makes it through.
  22. 3 game series is so much better than the winner take all. Not saying I'm in favor of 8 teams per league but its still almost as tense as a winner take all with a little more margin for error if you make a mistake. Still going to get situations where a much weaker team has 2 good days and wins, but it feels more fair IMO
  23. Runner on 2nd with 0 outs for the 3rd inning in a row...
  24. Wind must have really shifted, I did not expect that to go out...98.9 mph off the bat
