  1. If we're basing on FG rankings, I see PCA slotting in 8th on the Cubs, just behind Marquez
  2. Pete Crow Armstrong big time prospect but faaaaaaaaaaaaaar away from the majors
  3. He's great in transition. Solid defensively. His best role is probably as a scorer off the bench, though his 3 point shooting may or may not hold up (though he improved every year in college). He's a great competitor and he will work his butt off to improve his game however possible. Probably never an all-star, but should be a reliable rotation guy right away. I worry about the smallish iso scoring guards coming into the league unless they are great shooters and/or have freakish athleticism. If they cant hit a shot or cant beat NBA defenders off the dribble those players are typically 11th or 12th men off the bench. That said, he was a well rounded player in college and even if he's not scoring a ton if he can guard well and push the ball in transition he's a rotation player.
  4. I don't know how Ayo is going to end up being on the Bulls, but damn I never realized his wingspan is so big compared to his height. It's one of those things you can't unsee in pictures after you notice it
  5. How do you feel about 15?
  6. I’m 100% convinced that was the start of the turnaround from tanking losers to World Series champions
  7. I’d love to know what he means by emotional
  8. The fact that the US is a few minutes from winning this and not conceding a goal is nothing short of a miracle
  9. While the Cubs are trading away their generational stars…. generational is a stretch imo, especially for rizzo Not commenting on his abilities just that he’s a star and is synonymous with this generation of Cubs
  10. While the Cubs are trading away their generational stars….
  11. Have to say that watching a match with Qatar involved is exciting
  12. This is painful
  13. Close enough that it deserves its own thread IMO. This is horsefeathering depressing The Cubs have told Anthony
  14. Eh, my guess is that they were hoping he could revitalize the clubhouse which would somehow translate to the team playing better even though it was slowly being stripped of talent. Basically a last ditch effort for lack of better options. Funny when Theo/Jed took over we analyzed all their decisions from a "how did we outsmart other teams with this move" perspective. Now its "well they just threw him out there and hoped for the best"
  15. Why didn't Bryant or Rizzo PH for Heyward at the end?
  16. Thats so horsefeathering sad. I feel like this org does everything wrong...I get the whole 'dont play in case of injury' stuff, but horsefeathers give the guys a meaningless PH at bat to give them the ovation they deserve.
  17. must be nice I guess this is kind of what we did when our rebuild started to blossom. The problem is we ended up with guys like Heyward and Quintana and Chatman/Davis rentals instead of Machado, Darvish and Scherzer. Kind of cherry picking there. Pads also ended up with Eric Hosmer and Blake Snell (5.44 ERA this year). Cubs also signed Lester, Zobrist and brought back Fowler. If we’re just looking at on field performance, lumping in Chapman/Davis with Heyward (and to a lesser extent, Quintana) isn’t fair to those two reliever. And even Heyward, hindsight is 20-20. Was there a Cubs fan who wasn’t excited about bringing in a dude who was 26, put up 12.4 WAR over the prior 2 years and averaged 5 WAR over his first 6 years? Maybe you balk a bit at the length/total money but nobody thought Heyward to horsefeathers the bed the way he did offensively. I was totally cherry picking. I thought that's what we do here, make ourselves feel more miserable about the Cubs (except for Tom)

  19. Unfortunately it’s the other team that’s doing it. Cubs haven’t won a series against a team that isn’t the Diamondbacks in almost 7 weeks.
  20. Umm https://twitter.com/friedgehnic/status/1420205634721570820?s=21
  21. I don’t understand why they would trade him even if they are selling. Strange
