  1. I mean yes the Cubs suck, but considering we were already pretty thin at SP, it hasn't helped that Stroman, Miley and Smyly have all missed significant portions of time with injuries. Considering all the early leads we've had and blown, this season would not be nearly as dire had those 3 been healthy all year. Still probably under .500 but not bottom of the league terrible.
  2. Over the last 15 days (since June 2), Frank Schwindel has more pitching appearances for the Cubs (3) than Cubs closer David Robertson (2)
  3. when i'm in town, i usually park near belmont or montrose harbor and walk to wrigley. Yep, also anything west of Ashland is typically free. Last game I went to I found a free spot just south of Addison and Ashland and made the 10 minute or so walk. If you don't mind walking its not that difficult to find a free spot, especially because the Cubs blow and the park isn't full most nights.
  4. The Cubs have been outscored 46-14 over their last 3 games (18-4, 12-5, 16-5) Edit: Oh wait I forgot there was a 4-1 loss in there too, so 50-15 over last 4 games. Double Edit: Oh the Padres scored 3 more runs, so 53-14 now.
  5. highly doubt anyone is getting legitimately worked up over the games. Ahem... ---- Are we really having a discussion here about losing that lead? It just seems like people are angry and venting (which is fine I guess). I would be upset during a season where I thought the Cubs legitimately had a chance to win the division and/or make it to the postseason, but that ain't this year. The Cubs are bad, and I'm trying to take a "glass half-full" approach by telling people about the draft lottery and the chance to get the #1 pick in next year's draft and maybe see Caleb Kilian and some young prospects in the second half. But they are going to lose so many games before we get there and this season will be painful to watch if you're truly invested in every game. The team does suck so much ass and are terrible and all that stuff you quoted. I doubt anyone is losing sleep or feeling any real anger about it.
  6. I was hoping there was some news about Heyward not getting regular starts again but sounds like he's just sitting against a tough lefty. BORING
  7. highly doubt anyone is getting legitimately worked up over the games. Does it really matter if a 23-37 team wins or loses any individual game? Of course not, but of course having a 5 run lead and giving up 12 unanswered runs is going to cause discussion on a forum that (at least initially) was designed to discuss the Cubs. I'm pretty apathetic about the cubs right now and I'd imagine I'm not alone. I occasionally have the games on because my kids want to watch but even their interest in waning.
  8. Finally put one in
  9. Hendricks - 5 IP, 1 ER Bullpen - 4 IP, 11 ER
  10. And the Cubs have almost completely blown a 5 run lead in like 10 minutes
  11. The Cubs are now 2 for their last 59 with RISP, with neither hit driving in a run Edit: 2-60 now. Runner on second gets thrown out trying to advance to 3rd and the next hitter immediately gets a hit lol
  12. 10 total bases in 3 AB now for Willson
  13. Oh my....Maddon apparently got a mohawk haircut in order to help awaken the team, but got fired before he could show them lmao
  14. Guess we'll have to wait another few years for our first ever victory over the Yankees in New York. 0-14 now including 0-4 in the World Series and 0-2 in Spring Training to open up New Yankee Stadium in 2009
  15. I wouldn't fight it if he was fired but I don't really know how much is him doing a poor job. 2 of their 3 legitimate MLB starters have missed significant portions of time. Hendricks decline happened under him but he also had good years with Hottovy. Steele and Keegan have been nice surprises even if Keegan has been awful his last 2 outings. Pen has been up and down but solid in the back with Givens and Robertson (I think, I've mostly box score watched lately rather than actually watching).
  16. Cubs have to have one of the longest droughts between cycles right? Last one was still Grace in 1993 I believe
  17. Cubs are just over here breaking record after record today
  18. Since the Cub no-hit the Dodgers last season they have gone 52-94 in 146 games, playing at a 58-104 pace for most of a full season.
  19. I know this isn’t the final form product but Jed has been on a quest to change the dynamic of the offense from the issues the prior core had. Has anything appreciably changed for the better despite different players? Still seem like they are feast or famine, still seems to have massive issues with hitting with RISP. I’m just basing this on my observations, perhaps the numbers show something different.
  20. Keegan Thompson racing back to mediocrity
  21. I'm a nerd and went through every team vs. team history to determine if the Cubs winning % against the Yankees is the lowest. It is: Lowest winning % against an opponent lifetime: Cubs vs. Yankees - 15.4% (4-22) Reds vs. Mariners - 16.7% (3-15) Athletics vs. Braves - 19.0% (4-17)
  22. 1 run scored in 22 innings this series
