    Yes, Madrigal's performance since returning is not long term sustainable, my point is it is a noteworthy improvement and not currently the most pressing offensive problem at the moment(Heyward, Simmons, Rivas). Rivas is another issue altogether. I still like him, and I'm not sure what happened, but he needs a reset badly. His offense has completely disappeared and it is insane to carry a defensive replacement first baseman on a Major League roster. Get him back to Iowa and see if he can figure things out again. It is insane but also Schwindel is so so so so bad at 1B

    I am SHOCKED that a 21st century Cubs team could not get a runner home from 3rd with less than 2 outs.

    Considering we’ve had a lead in 15 of the last 17 games and are only like 6-8 in those games I’m sure you’re right

    Leadoff triple is probably not the best way to start the 9th with a 1 run lead

    Why couldn’t that be an option other than it being a major geographic outlier? Mexico would seem like the more natural fit culturally but I’m sure they’d rather have a country that A) can bring in more revenue and B) give road matches in the US a home field advantage. Not like switching confederations is unprecedented.

    4 of 5 against the Brewers/Cardinals. Could just be a blip in an otherwise bad season but in the moment it’s mildly fun. If only we didn’t lose all those 1 run games earlier on

    Cubs didn’t score in the 1st inning for the first time in 5 games. They instead scored in the 2nd The Cubs have now scored 1st in 13 of their last 15 games. Those first runs were scored in these innings: 1st inning : 8 times 2nd inning: 3 times 4th inning: 1 time 7th inning: 1 time
