  1. 3 responses, 3 different options lol. They are all pretty close so I might just close my eyes and choose one. I could also play D'onta Foreman in that spot but even below average QBing usually gets more points than anyone but top tier WR/RBs. I'm favored by 25 points so hopefully can survive a bad choice but obviously fantasy is unpredictable.
  2. My options for my superflex spot: Baker Mayfield @GB Sam Darnold vs PIT Kenny Pickett @CAR Colt McCoy @DEN 6 pt passing TD if that matters. I hate that I have to pick one of these guys... any advice? Leaning Baker due to having the mini-bye to learn the system and better targets.
  3. They still owe San Antonio a 1st in 2025 (top 10 protected, or top 8 protected in 2026)

  5. I missed this in the Rogers radio segment today...apparently a discussion he had with Jed this offseason: That can certainly be taken out of context and clearly he's not saying he's trying to be the Rays but man that's not the comparison I want to hear lol
  6. Chicago sports strikes again
  7. Rogers also talking about Vazquez/Cubs: https://www.bleachernation.com/cubs/2022/12/14/cubs-reportedly-offered-christian-vazquez-the-same-deal-as-the-twins-so/
  8. Jesse Rogers talking about Swanson/Cubs from Bleacher Nation: https://www.bleachernation.com/cubs/2022/12/14/report-dansby-swanson-has-offers-in-hand-and-the-cubs-do-kinda-sound-like-the-favorites/
  9. Hey another rebuilding year isnt too bad. At least all the other Chicago teams are doing well right now
  10. Yeah we're probably not getting swanson. If Jed hasn't bent on his principles to this point he's already switched into "smart short term FA signings that could be flipped at the deadline" mode.
  11. They basically have to pay double (at least for 2023) what any other team would, so I just don't see how that math possibly works. If he's worth THAT much to the Mets, there must be another team who would be willing to offer him more while paying out less. We’ll see. Your logic is sound but I thought the same about Senga. They haven’t seemed to care to this point. Maybe this is one step too far
  12. I just don't see how it helps to throw your head of baseball operations under the bus like that. Maybe they don't fire Jed but seems like the relationship will be damaged because of it. Or maybe its nothing and everyone will get over it quickly.
  13. I know there are bad vibes with what happened to the last core, but there's no reason someone wouldn't come to the Cubs if they were offering the most money unless a guy is really really hung up on being guaranteed to be in contention next season. we have no idea what these FAs really are interested in. maybe they don't like the cold, maybe they don't like playing in wrigley, maybe they have friends/family elsewhere, etc. it could easily be that we're just getting unlucky with this particular free agency class not having a lot of chicago fans. i'm just struggling to find reasons for why we haven't done more so far. if we aren't serious about correa, there are so many other free agents we should have come away with/ nothing makes sense right now unless we're getting correa. It's only cold for the first 6 weeks. Bogaerts grew up a Cubs fan, Correa has engaged with the Cubs the last 2 seasons and has been recruited by other Cubs players. Swanson's new wife plays soccer for the Red Stars. I don't think they are turned off by the Cubs at all, unless they simply don't believe the Cubs will be good anytime soon. I think its really just a matter of Jed not wanting to give out contracts longer than 6 years and he's waiting in hopes that the market comes down to where he wants to play.
  14. he's probably trying to, but nobody wants to come to the cubs for whatever reason I know there are bad vibes with what happened to the last core, but there's no reason someone wouldn't come to the Cubs if they were offering the most money unless a guy is really really hung up on being guaranteed to be in contention next season.
  15. Didn't realize he's not a local guy anymore. Good for him. I still prefer Correa but I can get behind Swanson. Little surprised that he might go before Correa. Figured he'd wait it out and then profit from the teams that are left with one SS left to fight over.
  16. They won’t fire him this offseason. But I have to think he has to be on the hot seat unless he swings a trade for Tatis or something. If he doesn’t get either guy I may have to buy a cubs convention ticket just to see the atmosphere I don't know that I'd have the restraint to keep myself from flipping off Ricketts if I ever saw him, so I'm pretty sure it's best I avoid the convention. I'm certain you won't be the only one flipping off Ricketts if he makes a public appearance at Cubs convention lol
  17. They won’t fire him the offseason. But I have to think he has to be on the hot seat unless he swings a trade for Tatis or something. If he doesn’t get either guy I may have to buy a cubs convention ticket just to see the atmosphere Jed HAS to be pissed at Crane for putting him in the hole by saying all that horsefeathers just before the winter meetings. But anything Crane says comes directly from Tommy Boy Ricketts. I don't imagine there is a lot of trust right now from the baseball opps people. Completely agree. If I was Jed I'd be pissed off at the ownership right now. I'd also be out there signing lots of sweet FAs but that's beside the point.

  19. Guess its time for a new game thread. Bears 9 point dogs at home. Hoping for another electric Fields performance. While losing would be greatly beneficial, it would be nice to see him and the offense manage to keep pace with Philly for most of the game.
  20. something something rain delay speech
  21. Of course. Going to win 9 in a row to finish 11-3. Top seed in playoffs and have scored 200 points more than any other team. Everyone was healthy going into the playoffs. And then Kyler Murray tore his horsefeathering ACL and I have to start Heinicke or Sam Darnold in the playoffs
  22. How is Cubs twitter taking this?
  23. Another one bites the dust
