  1. Wisdom is on pace for 86 home runs this year. Is that good?
  2. It's like the 3rd or 4th most notable thing that's happened tonight haha
  3. What is this weird feeling I'm experiencing while watching Cubs baseball? Is...is it joy?
  4. Wisdom now leads the league in home runs. Yowza
  5. 7 of the 9 Cubs in the lineup have multiple hits tonight. Madrigal only has 1 and Mancini 0
  6. Which song is it? I barely pay attention to commercials anymore. One I do hear a ton now is that Queen song "Cool Cat" which Queen fans tend to call one of their worst. I guess its really catchy though.
  7. 17 hits for the Cubs, but only 6 runs lol. Funny because we had one inning where we were driving in RISP left and right but the rest of the game we've struggled. Lets see if we can convert in this situation.
  8. OK that was a really nice inning by Wesneski. At 76 pitches through 6...risk having him go another, or let him leave feeling good about himself?
  9. Is it just me or have umps been worse than ever this year? Seems like a consistent amount of bad calls, many blatantly bad.
  10. I believe in him enough to let him work through it, but something has to give between Mancini and Hosmer at 1B.
  11. Mancini's really having a rough go of it right now.
  12. Look he's definitely still struggling with a few things but getting the 5 run lead has allowed Wesneski to calm down a bit and just pitch and the results have been better. Seemed to lose his command in a bit in the 5th but pitched out of it.
  13. Funny enough, that hit was only a HR at 3/30 parks and not Wrigley:
  14. They may be better but they're still the Cubs so of course they have to load the bases with 0 outs and not score lol.
  15. wtf Madrigal. Should be benched for running that stop sign.
  16. What a terrible strikeout call on Wisdom, but I guess I can't complain too hard after yesterday. Damn how was that not a HR for Bellinger? He murdered it....cant believe that was only a double.
  17. It's making me laugh so hard that they are advertising a Tony Kemp poster giveaway right behind home plate.
  18. Wesneski really struggling out there despite only giving up 1 run so far. 2 IP, 4 hits, several very loud outs. Hasn't walked anyone yet though, so thats positive.
  19. Wesneski holds the A’s to 1 run in the 1st
  20. I’m sorry but calling out the A’s as terrible in the header link to the game thread is just asking for trouble.
  21. Should have paid attention last time. Though if there's not a large vote, one of us can manipulate it and force you to write a scouting report on someone like Parker Chavers 😅
  22. Cool, yeah I figured it was always just sort of a floating number, but 54 sticks with the initial Lasorda quote. I've enjoyed reading these and find myself wondering during the games whether this will be a third bucket game 😂
  23. So I see the Cubs are 14th in Athletic's new power rankings. Don't worry the power ranking weirdo is not coming back. The reason I'm bringing it up is because I noticed 4 of their 5 series so far this year have been against teams ahead of the Cubs in their power rankings, Brewers (4), Dodgers (9), Rangers (T-12), Mariners (T-12). They've gone 7-5 in those games. Good stuff
  24. Just thinking about how this Cubs team may be built to have more "third bucket games" as you call them than the average team. What happens when you exceed 54 games? lol
