  1. Cuas went on bereavement list, Anthony Kay (groan) called up
  2. Yes and with a rookie QB and no 1st round pick there is absolutely no incentive for them to tank so they are going to be playing to win all season including the end when other teams are going for draft position or preparing for the playoffs
  3. You can't make this stuff up. What in the world
  4. We always seem to hit Burnes well during opening week and then he shuts us down any other time he faces us.
  5. Here are the Cubs weighted values against cutters since 8/1: Hoerner 1.5 Wisdom 1.4 Happ 0.5 Morel 0.0 Bellinger 0.0 Amaya -0.1 Candelario -0.4 Suzuki -0.5 Madrigal -0.5 Tauchman -0.7 Swanson -2.5 Gomes -2.9
  6. Otherwise known as a Trestman
  7. I literally even started posting notes on what he said a few hours ago lol
  8. The sad thing is that if the Cubs get swept, they are guaranteed to lose all their WC cushion as the Giants (2 GB) and Reds (2 GB) are currently playing a series. One of those teams is going to win twice to pull even with the Cubs. My suggested solution is for the Cubs to not get swept.
  9. This is a little misleading since 2 of his relief appearances were essentially treated as starts. As a 1 inning reliever he has 5 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 5 K
  10. Yeah, I just think the Brewers are red hot right now. Tough to beat teams when they are playing this well. I thought we outplayed them in that series in July despite splitting. Just a bad time to be playing them.
  11. Only 5 games out with Burnes and Woodruff looming, its still good, its still good
  12. My wife is at the game with her company and is flipping out that Bob Odenkirk is in the suite next to her and sitting literally 5 feet from where she is. Trying to think of the funniest thing she could shout at him that would resonate more than shooting the finger guns at him or saying “Better Call Saul!” . Maybe “Good thing 24 is the highest number so there’s a cap to how many runs Taillon can give up” ^^ this is why I don’t approach celebrities ^^
  13. Is he? Seems like the Cubs are hitting him fairly well. but anyways getting weak contact is exactly what has kept Miley in the league for so long so not sure why you’d be surprised
  14. Also the Cubs have 5 of their own, but only 1 has fallen for a hit (the HR)
  15. The Brewers have put 12 balls in play today with a .400 xBA or higher. And we're in the 3rd inning
  16. Does the goodness of Dansby, Bellinger, Merryweather, Fulmer, Tauchman erase the badness of Smyly, Mancini, Hosmer, Taillon, Barnhart? Probably but damn
  17. Well that erases one Taillon horsefeathers up
  18. Nah the Brewers are just hotter. I mean yeah they may be better but not to the degree that we should expect to get swept at home with ease
  19. Taillon has given up 8 ER his last 0.2 of an inning going back to Detroit
  20. How much did we pay Taillon to give us 6 good starts a year?
  21. How do we prepare our starters better so they don’t give up runs every horsefeathers 1st inning
  22. It's a bit rough but its also fair. It's also fair to not look very much into 6 preseason passes. For example the first play clearly looks like a vanilla offensive play that I can't see them ever running in the regular season. Noted the improvements in his mechanics but also where he's still showing issues Summary: Play 1 (low pass to Kmet) - Poor play call designed to remove half the field. Fields dropback mechanics initially fine but when he had to hesitate to delay the throw his footwork got too wide. Ball was low but no one was really open Play 2 (forced lob to Moore) - Another questionable play call on 3rd and 10, doesn't think the "rub" man did a good job giving Moore some space. Moore wasn't open so the decision was questionable (though he didnt point out anyone who was), but the throw was especially bad - flat and thrown too far to the inside when it should have been to the outside for Moore to have a shot at it. Footwork and timing seemed off too. In his mind a very bad play by Fields Play 3 (checkdown to Herbert) - Right decision, was thrown a little too hard but Herbert absolutely should have caught it. Complimented the arm angle on the throw, says he might have checked down too early. Also thought he went through his progressions a little too quickly and thought his second read was open. Thats all the plays I have time to summarize for now.
