ok with the win today, the Cubs now technically control their destiny in the NL Central. -
1 more win from 10 over .500 after being 10 under .500 earlier in the year.

Knew the bunt was coming. One of the few situations where I dont *hate* a bunt but dont love either with Happ on deck. Also never having a sacrifice bunt before is concerning

Also with Merryweather, Leiter and Adbert burned (after the 9th), the options for pen guys after that get scary.

Yeah and the Brewers had a bunch of lefties coming up. I didn't hate the decision though I can understand why you'd stick with Merryweather as well as he's pitched lately and an off day tomorrow.

Yeah we got the lead and the bullpen will finish them off, lets hurry this thing up so I can get another hour of work done before the end of the day.

This is the nuance I love about baseball. Hendricks goes down 3-1 to the opening hitter of the 6th, throws an absolutely perfect pitch to nick the bottom right corner of the zone and then induces a popup. If he walks the leadoff hitter, the inning immediately gets a lot more dangerous, but by a hair he manages to get the out. Then he does the exact same thing with Telez except get gets the strikeout this time.

Cubs offense is going to drool at the thought of going to GABP and facing the Reds pitching staff after this series
