Cubs have had the lead in 13 straight games. They are 7-5 so far in those games. Even the games we've won we've let the opponent back into the game 5 times. The only game we've had an easy win during this stretch is the 6-2 win over Toronto
There are not too many worse feelings in baseball than loading the bases with 0 outs, getting the next 2 hitters out without allowing a run, then getting 2 strikes on the next hitter before giving up a grand slam.
If we drop this, 7-7 since the Mets series and 4-4 since we started playing very bad teams that are out of the race. I guess it happens in baseball, but horsefeathers this is so annoying.

I mean Ross heavily implied postgame that he's starting again on Sunday. That doesn't mean he ultimately will but your article speaks of certainty that Smyly is done starting and I'm not convinced that's the case yet.
