For comparison purposes, Tucker Barnhart has 22 hits in 42 games -
12 home runs in a 2 game span has to be close to a record. I believe they tied their record with 7 HR last night and 5 more today

Dammit, I can't figure out if its a good thing that 4 of the 6 teams in contention for the WC are playing each other right now or not. I guess with all the teams still in front of us its good to know you gain ground on 2 of them tonight.

Actually thats true. Happ for some reason gets 90% of his production for the year against the Reds, Brewers, Pirates and Adam Wainwight.

Reds decided it really wasn't fair that the Cubs couldn't get those runs home from 2nd and 3rd with 0 outs and decided to gift them.

Funny, this team became a lot more fun when they decided to start winning a high percentage of baseball games.

This lineup just seems so much deeper with Candelario in there. It probably helps when multiple people are on a heater but I'm just to being like 2-3 run producing spots in the order, and now when the Cubs get through Morel, then Bellinger, I braced for Mastrobuoni or Barnhart or someone like that but nope we still have Swanson. Of course after him would have been the Happ, Gomes, Suzuki part of the order but still.

To add to this, if you include Smyly's 2.5m buyout for 2025, the Cubs will be paying these 3 players $20.75m next year.

Nah its a mutual option but the Cubs pay a $2.5m buyout if they opt out of the deal.
