  1. 2.5 out of the division, 2 out of the WC I think
  2. Last time Adbert came out for a 4 out save Tauchman had to save the game. Don't think he can scale the wall at Wrigley so better just get 3 strikeouts.
  3. Dammit....he was probably gonna get thrown out but I wish Dansby could have scored there. BTW, De La Cruz due up 3rd in the 9th. 😱
  4. I’m not very comfortable with the idea that 4 runs will win this game.
  5. That was the most telegraphed ejection ever
  6. What a terrific job by Morel. That is a maturing hitter right there
  7. Pirates took a 1-0 first inning lead against the Brewers but they ended up score 2 of their own in the 1st and lead 2-1
  8. Seems like they really are going to try to platoon Seiya. Funny thing is, his OPS against lefties and righties is exactly the same thing year (.723)
  9. Plus Flaherty is a good dude and I was waiting for him to leave the Cardinals so I could like him
  10. Guess we might know why Rizzo has been terrible for the past 3 months: wtf
  11. Yep that's exactly what happened. Also sometimes I post something, and then come back later to post something else and my previous message is still in the text edit box, which makes me wonder if the previous message posted. It usually has, but then i have to refresh the page and go back to the text box and click the clear contents button so I can compose my new message.
  12. Where it's changed is weekday day games. They use to happen regularly, especially in April and September. This year, they only have total 6 home day games during the week (Mon-Thurs), not including Memorial Day and Labor Day. For comparison, they have 7 road day games during the week, not including 4th of July. The novelty of day baseball at Wrigley is now limited to Fridays and Saturdays (since almost every team has a day game on Sunday). Pretty much no one else plays day games on Fridays, and most teams still play Saturday games at night too. TBH, I'm completely fine with it. I still miss the occasional daysball at Wrigley while I'm working, but I like night baseball more.
  13. My favorite part of their mini-run is when they hung Eloy's jersey (signed by the team) and batting gloves up in the dugout like he had died or something after one of his many injuries.
  14. I love NSBB. I didn't even have to do anything but use reactions to the various replies, you guys had it covered.
  15. I'm assuming the remaining SOS is also based on 2023 performance rather than W-L record right? Because Tankathon also tracks remaining SOS but bases it purely on W-L record and they show that the Cubs have the 19th hardest remaining SOS at .494 and 3 NL teams having easier remaining SOS (Atlanta at .490, Cincinnati at .489 and Milwaukee at .485)
  16. Screw it this team has been playing at a 100 win pace for almost 2 months. 6-3 or we riot.
  17. I'm sure others are still playing this but its funny this thread has turned into Derwoods daily Immaculate Grid update 😁
  18. That's funny (read: sad) that the Cubs should be leading the division by almost 10 games going by third-order wins.
  19. Maybe that was part of the conditions in his contract?
  20. One more cool factoid from the last 2 days: If it wasn’t for Patrick Wisdom going 0-2 tonight, every single Cubs hitter that came to the plate the last 2 nights would have had a hit. 21 different Cubs hitters came to the plate, 20 of them had at least 1 hit
  21. It's days like this you wish Thom wasn't a douchebag homophobe so we could have heard "Enough Already Pt. 2"
  22. Since some were wondering if Candelario got a WS ring (which it then became clear he did since he played for the 2016 Cubs), I stumbled upon this old pic tonight:
  23. Anyone from the “we should have sold our guys for mid-level prospects” crowd care to chime in?
