Man I hate how ESPN Radio reports World Cup games - "Togo leads Korea 1-0 with 3 minutes remaining in the first half" How bout saying it the correct way, in the 43rd minute.
I think I'm a huge jinx. I have a terrible record both in person and watching team USA games on TV. Edit: BTW Ginger's Ale House on Grace and Ashland was rocking at the start of the game. I'm sure the Globe Pub was too
This reminds me of the game against Philly last year when Dempster came in with a 2-0 lead, got an out, then walked the bases loaded, then walked in a run, then struck out 2 batters in a row to get the save.
Oh c'mon guys. This is a minor diversion. Long toss, towel drill, mound throwing, live hitters, simulated game, setback, live hitters, simulated game, first minor league rehab, second minor league rehab and he's back for a game or two in Mid-August.
This will be Kerry's 11th DL visit of his career. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/cs-060609cubswood,1,4605074.story?coll=cs-home-headlines
Saw that. Guess hes not starting on Sunday lol Edit:when he doesn't play the rest of the year, he will make 3.375 million per start this year. Congrats Kerry.
Yeah goto the team who had a juicer and a corker and still can't get to the World Series. Would welcome you with open arms though. Would love to have a (former) Cardinals fan feel the pain and misery that we experience everyday.
Unbelievable. Sorry, I don't have a link. I just heard on the update that the Cardinals have called the Pirates inquiring about Wilson, since Pujols is on the DL. I'm sorry, if the Cardinals lose their 1B and trade for a more then adequate replacement there will be a personal hatred for Jimbo.
I don't understand. Once you get past that point of caring, the Cubs are really an entertaining team to watch. Just a negatively entertaining team. Plus they get to be paid to watch other teams tee off on the Cubs.
Is there any way to figure out how many more runs the Cubs would have this season if they used a league average leadoff hitter instead of Pierre all year.
As a Cub fan, I would take NO pleasure if this is true. First because Pujols seems like a likeable and legit guy. Second because it would ABSOLUTELY DESTROY BASEBALL for the best hitter in the game to be taken down at his absolute peak. Rest assured though, I doubt this is true
