  1. ^^ Excellent analysis. I had many of the game thoughts regarding the Cardinals offense moving against the Bears defense, but was unable to put it into words as well as you did
  2. Don't forget, they have Pedro and El Duque too but they're injured. I bet they wish they had gotten Zito at the deadline right about now
  3. Who the heck would be pitching Game 7 for the Mets? Darren Oliver? Man how has this team gone as far as they have with no pitching. Oh yeah, they are in the NL
  4. Really? I don't think it'd be enough for the Mariners to do it. Mainly because hes the face of their organization
  5. Boers and Bernstein made a great point yesterday. It's one thing to be watching the game and getting knee jerk "what a terrible throw, we need to bench this guy" out of emotion. It's completely another thing to still be saying that 2 days later when you sit and think about it rationally. Another point they made, is that the Orton supporters last year used "he's winning, you can't sit him" as their main point, which they are now forgetting while attacking Grossman. Some of these people are just morons. I was listening yesterday and some moron came on and said bench Grossman, start Griese, and make Orton the second stringer and the starter next year because Grossman is gonna be gone. I wish I knew what the hell he was talking about. Needless to say, Boers and Bernstein ripped him a new one. As someone said earlier, their producer or whoever is taking the calls HAS to put these morons on. There has to be some rational Bears fans in this city, and they all seem to never call into B&B. Was that the caller that said Grossman won't be back because the Bears are going to use their money to keep Lance Briggs?

  7. I love Boers and Bernstein, they have a great skill in arguing. They stick to their guns and articulate themselves.
  8. Oh wow, must be a continuation from yesterday's show where the same stuff was going on. There were 2 callers that called in that actually suggested that they bench Grossman and bring in Orton. Man this Rex thing is going to tear apart the Bears fans on this city. And any homophobic or anti-semetic comments are very immature, but Boers and Bernstein are known for stradling the line of decency on the airwaves.
  9. And Chelski wins the game 1-0. Barca did not look very good on offense, but they got a few chances that went by.
  10. Care to elaborate? I just turned it on and caught the last minute of the Angelo talk
  11. I posted it in social, but I don't think there are any responses yet.
  12. The computers can, but the human polls, which still have a rather large pull in the BCS still have a penalty for losing late. And to who proposed an OSU-Michigan rematch in the championship game, what good would that accomplish? The worst thing would be if Michigan beat OSU by 10 in Columbus and then OSU beat Michigan by 1 on neutral ground. What if the AP decided to vote Michigan #1 anyways?
  13. If you have any extras, heh
  14. GEE SO GLAD THE CHICAGO MARKET IS LUCKY ENOUGH TO SEE GB-MIA INSTEAD OF A GREAT CIN-CAR MATCHUP. Geez, I hate Brett Favre
  15. Sad as it is to say, if he doesn't return this season, that fumble return might be his last big memory with the Bears
  16. Sorry if this has already been discussed, I don't feel like going through 8 pages, but using Tim's guesstimate bid and salary, how does that affect the Cubs payroll? $28 million or $4 million? If the latter, where does the remaining $24 million come into play in terms of FA signings etc.
  17. Thats what I was thinking when we signed Lou. Was not around for Leo, but I hear it was an interesting time
  18. According to Baseball Reference, these are his 10 most similar batters: 1. Cliff Floyd (943) 2. Jermaine Dye (936) 3. Mike Sweeney (934) 4. Paul Konerko (932) 5. Magglio Ordonez (928) 6. Carl Everett (921) 7. Richie Zisk (917) 8. Derrek Lee (916) 9. Carlos Beltran (914) 10. Rondell White (912) Pretty good representation of above average yet not quite star hitters of this generation (and pretty bizarre that 9 of the 10 listed here are active players)
  19. You were drunk. I'm always drunk, that doesn't mean anything....but now that I think about it, the jerk wouldn't sign my flask even after I threw it down to him.
  20. He's been known to describe Neifi's bat as "stellar" Fake edit: Just kidding....I think
  21. I'd also like to know this. Do they count the people that tune in for only a part of the game? For example, I know I usually couldn't make it past the 3rd inning this year. I think they're measured by having some households a device that tracks their TV viewing habits. This is then extrapolated to the entire region. I don't know how you could do that though. You just don't take 1 or 5% of the city, take the percentage of those who switch on the game, and then extrapolate from that, to 100%. It's just not going to be accurate. I always thought it worked like radio in that they could simply detect the signals coming in and when they switched off. Statistically speaking, it is very accurate with of course the margin of error added in. People use sample sizes of 1-5% (even less) in many important estimations, including government and business statistics.
  22. I am sorry, I interacted with Pujols in the RF bleachers before the home opener this year for probably a good 5-7 minutes, and he was probably the nicest "star" ballplayer I've ever met. I am not saying that because of this one experience that he's not a jerk, but due to my experience, its gonna be very hard for me to accept it.
  23. This umpire is pathetic. Who is behind the plate tonight?
  24. Looks like the Cubs will post a bid: http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/cs-061017cubsside,1,4937329.story?coll=cs-home-headlines
  25. I read that they already tabbed Philly @ Indy for that game. Both very good games... I'd like to see both. I'll be at the Bears/Pats game, and then flying back to Chicago that night, so I don't think I'll catch the Philly/Indy game.
