  1. This might be the one time Z was to get a no hitter and he won't be able to stay in the game long enough to enjoy it.
  2. And here is a link, also posted in the main forum http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2960193
  3. Is suspended for 80 games now: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2960193 Sorry I couldn't find the old post for it.
  4. Neifi failed a stimulants test for the third time and will be suspended 80 games!
  5. I don't get it at all. There's no reasonable explanation for his power outage. Maybe he's hiding an injury or the injury to his knees is affecting his power
  6. When's the last time Floyd homered? June 26th. A span of 17 games played for him.
  7. Aramis has hit 1 HR in his last 29 games
  8. Full Count 55 ABs 26 BBs 23 Ks .291/.512/.400 .912 OPS :) Wow...only 6 times did he get to a full count and put the ball in play? ......
  9. Full Count 55 ABs 26 BBs 23 Ks .291/.512/.400 .912 OPS :) 23 Ks in 55 ABs does seem like a lot, but I guess when you already have 2 strikes on you, thats probably normal to K 42% of the time, especially being a supposed power hitter.
  10. This game looks to be a offensive struggle
  11. He started to get rocked in his last start against St. Louis. 5 IP 4 ER
  12. STL (Wells) @ WAS (Redding) COL (Francis) @ ATL (Smoltz) PHI (Kendrick) @ MIL (Gallardo) - uh oh, better win today Cubs SFO (Cain) @ SDG (Maddux) ARI (Davis) @ LAD (Billingsley) Go Nats, Rocks, Phils, Giants, and DBacks!
  13. How quickly did the tickets go before being sold out? If I were to open like 70 windows like I did for regular season tickets, would I be likely to get tickets?
  14. Everyone knows that Kerry Wood will be activated tomorrow. The question is whose 25 man spot will he take, and more importantly, whose 40 man spot will he take since he is on the 60 day DL. Guesses?
  15. comments on the game.. where is the power? this was a great day to hit HRs and the Cubs hit not one. What the heck is wrong with this teams power? the rotation is really starting to worry me. Other than Z and maybe Lilly, what other starter do you really expect good things from when they pitch? Our offense isn't good enough to compensate for mediocre starting pitching.
  16. And Marquis's overpriced contract just disappears? Santana uses his superpowers to turn back time to before Hendry agreed to the contract, then goes forward again and plays for the Cubs. And after having a major hole in the Cubs rotation that the Cubs attempted to fill disastrously with Mike Maroth, the Cubs finish 7 games behind the brewers in the NL Central in 2007
  17. because we have been playing .500 baseball with our current roster for the last 2 months? It was a hot streak. It got them back into contention, but to think they will sustain +.650 baseball the rest of the year is really pushing it. They havent even been over 8 games above .500 The team has to many weaknesses to sustain playing at that level for a 2-3 month timeframe. Most good teams play .500 ball for long stretches of the season. It's hot streaks that get good teams into the playoffs. The Cubs have had 1.5 hot streaks this season. With their easy schedule, they are due for 1-2 more. It's not like we are over our heads. We are actually playing 4 games worse than our Pythagorean record suggests. Thank you...and that's coming from a guy (UMFan) who predicted the Cubs to win, what, 82 games at best? 78 :), but I seriously undervalued our starting pitching, which you have to admit is better than anyone could have predicted. Our offense is playing about exactly where I predicted it.

  19. They will be eligible for the playoff roster if acquired before August 31st
  20. Soriano, Jones, Floyd isn't that bad on paper if you look at their last healthy seasons. jones last healthy season is the current one, and he's been terrible. I'm talking about going into the season. The comment was about Hendry buildinga a good OF. If you look at their last healthy seasons before this one, it looks pretty good on paper, defense and OBP ignored.

  22. Or when the trading deadline occurs and people are hoping that trades are imminent.
  23. Please amount to something. Please. But not for Marmol. Eric Patterson for Dye? Probably giving up too much, but for the first World Series in 99 years? Yes please.
  24. I forgot who was talking about this, but that is exactly what I heard on the radio. His time is running short, so he's building for now rather than the future.
  25. Didn't know I had a radar. I read it this morning in Barry Rozner's column. Desipio reader I'm guessing. I really enjoy their humor except when it pertains to their disdain for this message board and specific posters here.
