Whats the point of playing a season if you aren't going to at least attempt to win or in their case root for their team to win the division. It's a bad example, but the Yankees are 12 games out. Don't you think they are saying similar things? Yes the Yankees have a bunch more talent then the Pirates, but you gotta think that they are thinking that if Adam LaRoche plays like 2006 LaRoche and Jason Bay reverts back to the one they know and love and Gorzelanny and Snell continue to pitch solidly for the Pirates they can get back into it. I of course don't believe it, but there is logic behind their hope.

I was driving around Wrigleyville today listening to their pregame show and it came in mostly fine. A few weeks ago, I was trying to listen to one of their games at night and it was almost impossible to hear. I'm guessing since AM radio signals travel better at night, there was interference from other stations.

He is also slugging almost .500, which is most likely second on the team behind Ramirez. (I'm too lazy to check) That should keep him in the 3 hole

None. And Hill should have a pretty long leash, seeing as he's *still* the Cubs second best pitcher this season. Rich Hill's ERA is now 3.84. Ted Lilly's is 3.84 as well but has been a bit more consistant. I'd say Hill is our 4th best pitcher behind Z, Lilly, Marquis

I feel like the Cubs offense is going into famine mode. Last night after the 3rd inning we just have looked bad. Could be the pitchers, but it could be the Cubs cooling off. If the Cubs hot hitters cool off, we have to be worried due to the black holes in the Cubs lineup (C, CF) that have been masked by the rest of the team being hot.

Something has to be done with our catchers. The Cubs starting catchers are hitting 4-43 (.093) since Barrett has been traded. I'd guess our pitchers are hitting higher then that

The rotation should be Zambrano, Hill, Marquis, Lilly, Marshall. I think its good to break up Hill and Marshall.
