  1. I hope you are right. I hope you are wrong because that will probably still be with another team.
  2. No but Soto can apparently play 1B or OF. Why do we want Bowen in the lineup at all again?
  3. and Pat pretends like there is a HR hit for the 3292949th time this year. This is a new trend this year too...
  4. C'mon Sori pretend like its the All Star game. Oh wait he k'd
  5. coincidentally, these two also need to get out more Yep. Only problem is Vance only gets out to Hooters. He doesn't go anywhere else. Sorry Vance. Had to vote for Raisin here. The minor league forum wouldn't exist w/o Raisin. I don't know, Outshined_one does (did) a lot there too. But yes, Raisins contributions are limitless on that forum.
  6. Oh gosh. This vote is so close. I might just have to vote for who signed up for the site first (and I have no clue which one that is)
  7. Honestly. Could you imagine what kind of attention that would draw the game? Of course, mlb doesn't care. they're too busy taking down video highlights off youtube. Just look at how much attention it brought MLB in 2003 when the Cubs and Red Sox each made their respective LCS's. And how many of those people didn't hang around to watch the Yankees and Marlins. and how many would have if the red sox and cubs had matched up god i just passed out because of how much media coverage a matchup like that would have gotten i mean seriously. WOW. At least you know for certain that the MLB isn't fixed, because if it was they gave up a goldmine.
  8. I was still watching in July but it was painful. Very painful. I quit watching in Mid-may last year. It made for a boring, but much less painful, summer. No matter how bad the Cubs are, I couldn't go that long without some type of sport to watch. The pain of boredom would be far worse than even the deep, grinding pain of Cub suckage. I know. I watched almost every game last year, even as I cursed everything about them and was ashamed to admit I was a fan in public. I feel thats the mark of a true fan, but maybe thats just me being too attached to them
  9. Well the area where CF is was occupied by the actual stage. Also the OF was almost completely covered by planks for people to walk on. No one was walking on grass in the OF
  10. Whoops. That sucks....I wonder if it's even playable.
  11. I'm sure they haven't made an official announcement yet. With the day off today, they don't really have to make a move like that until tomorrow. Especially because his roster spot might open up via a not yet completed trade. Bruce probably got the word from his Cubs insiders.
  12. I doubt Detroit would trade for a MI from us again after their disasterous Neifi decision.
  13. Remember when he gave up 9 in 2003? Ugh, I just remember that stat because he gave up 3 HRs in 4 batters during game 1 of the NLCS
  14. Kidding right? Lugo everyday of the week and twice on Sunday. I know people will try to argue RGI's, but I don't think RGI's are as important as RBI's
  15. 10-9 with a 3.77 ERA, I guess your right. He's not soft tossing nor is he lefty.
  16. What are the probables for this series? Jennings, Oswalt, Wandy? Uh oh. Edit: According to ESPN, and who knows how accurate Fri: Jennings vs. Zambrano Sat: Oswalt vs. Lilly Sun: Wandy vs. Marquis
  17. C'mon, make game 1 in Petco Park
  18. How come I haven't seen Lee or Soriano there yet?
  19. Considering the Cubs' current situation at SS, he may have more value starting for the Cubs than he would in a trade. Agreed (if he can stop making terrible mental mistakes). But I think the Cubs impression of him isn't that great, so I think as trade bait he'd be valuable.
  20. I was thinking about Minor League assets that we have available for trades, and one name kept coming up. Ronny Cedeno. He has one (bad) year of major league experience under his belt (which may or may not hurt his value), he is tearing it up in AAA right now at a defensive position and showing power. He is obviously in a AAAA/MLB position right now. He doesn't need much more grooming. I would think that given his AAA numbers, he is looking very attractive for some seller out there. Given that Lou has stated that there is no room for him on the roster right now, and given that the experiment of him as a starter did not work out so well and probably gave the Cubs management a bad impression of him, what kinda value would he possess as a trading chip for other teams? Maybe I'm delirious but I'd think he'd have a decent amount of value (obviously no where close to "top prospect" status), as long as he's packaged with someone else. However, there are much much more knowledgeable talent evaluators on this board than I, so I will leave it up to you guys.
  21. C'mon Vlad! I just drew him in my office HR Derby Pool
  22. The Phillies are right behind us in the Wild Card race. Not a great record, but with the expectations that the ballclub has, I would think they would be buyers, not sellers.
