    The sad thing is, if Jacque Jones hit 60 HRs and was given nightly curtain calls he would still never like the Cubs. For some reason, the Cubs fans just hated him like no other Cubs. Think about all of our bad FAs signings, none were ever hated as much as Jacque. The man hit a career high in HRs and was still hated by the Cubs. Not fair, and I feel really bad for the guy because you have to believe that he thinks racism is the reason.

    Like when Ramirez hit that GW HR against the Brewers? I was waiting for that. Name any other times? I can't. You can't think of another time one of our hitters had a big hit? Think harder.     Unlike the Cubs, the Cardinals have four guys come up each year and look like Hall of Famers. They signed Tony Womack the year after he stunk for us and he even looked like an all star. jeff weaver, bo hart, fernando tatis, etc. John Rodriguez. Ankiel.... Oh yeah I forgot about j-rod. they have so many of them. What happened to John Rodriguez??

    A team on average will score more runs with the pitcher batting 8th. The impact is just about 2-3 runs a year. How would you prove that? Anyone ever done it? If that is true why is LaRussa the only one smart enough to figure that out and implement it.

    Well, that's a little of an exaggeration don't you think. His ERA is 5.01, if you count that as almost 6 :D This is the one Cardinals pitcher who the Cubs cannot seem to figure out, and I'm not sure why. It's not that he's just a bad pitcher, or the Cubs offense, because they hit the other pitchers just fine for the most part. Whoops, for some reason I thought it was higher, my bad!

    I think the rivalry is fun. I always jaw with Cubs fans at Wrigley but afterwards we always shake hands. Anyway, I'll stay out of this thread. Baseball is serious business. You're always welcome here, we know you come in good fun, but you understand the effects of rubbing things in on a Cubs biased board.
