  1. I predict that the bullpen comes in, the Cubs lick their chops and come out super agressive and make a bunch of quick outs.
  2. If anything, the Brewers team is inspired by his great performance tonight
  3. Remember when he had like 6 HRs in April?
  4. Gateway Redbirds has a thread up about it. Here is the link to the speculation: http://www.stltoday.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=479632 Sorry I would have put this in rivalries, but with the pennant race heating up, I figure it would be better to place it here with more traffic. Also sorry if this was posted already. I looked briefly.
  5. Kendall's AB with DeRosa on third is looming large right now.
  6. Inning ending DP just like last nights 6th inning ended
  7. Not allowed to have a 20 HR hitter on the team
  8. Is it just me or does it seem like all Ramirez can do with that outside pitch is foul it away? It's not a terribly bad thing, but it's just something I noticed.
  9. Z will come back out for the 7th. Too big of a game. Actually 94 pitches in 6 innings is pretty effecient for Z sadly
  10. How many times is he going to get into trouble with 2 outs and no one on
  11. Thanks for ensuring another inning for sheets Cobs
  12. Oh....my....gosh. That's embarassing Sori
  13. How much money did Z earn on that 2 out double?
  14. And we're losing. Good thing its the Brewers we are talking about. Z earming his money again.
  15. Wow, moving the IF in finally works
  16. Look at how pissed off the Brewers are getting when they strike out. They are definitely feeling the pressure.
  17. Agreed. Much bigger inning if Theriot hits away. Unless he GIDP
  18. It's huge, but I'm really down to a point now where every game is the biggest game of the year. Last night was by far the most nervous I've been watching a game all season, and I know it's only going to get worse. x2 I think part of it, a large part of it, has to do with being here in St. Louis....every time they win a game now I hear how the "spunky" "scrappy" "heart of a champion" do gooders are just ready to take the division...it drives me nuts...and with them taking an early lead last night it was just...well...as someone said...ulcer city. Thank God I don't like in St. Louis, I just work in an office with 3-4 of them. I work in downtown Chicago and my office is 50% Tigers fans, 25% Cubs fans, 15% Cardinals fans, 5% Brewers fans, 5% other (Reds, Pirates, Mariners). Note: not one White Sox fan among the office. How do you wind up with a breakdown like that in downtown Chicago? I'd say about 60-30-10 Sox/Cubs/others up in my office, though offset by the floor where it's majority Cubs fans. We do a lot of recruiting in Michigan and Ohio. I think a third of our office went to UM, and another third went to Western Michigan (which is a Cubs/Tigers mix of fans). I think its a pure and pleasant coincidence that none of our Chicago hires are White Sox fans.....or maybe my boss is screening for them (shhhhhh!) It's kinda fun to have such a mix in the office. On Thursdays when there is a lot of day games, you hear people randomly cheering at random points in the afternoon when their local teams score.
  19. I do it because I can be a pessimistic jerk anonymously (except for the select few that know me to be a pessimistic jerk in real life :))

  21. Sounds ridiculous but when one team is known for overachieving and one team is known for underachieving, this is the kinda of commentary you get.
  22. Couldn't have said it better myself. I bet if you asked all those Cub fans who booed what they thought of Uecker, they'd tell you they think he's a great ambassador to the sport and were doing it just to give him a little ribbing. Yeah, I don't think it's a big deal, and though I can't speak for Ueck, I seriously doubt he cared. I seem to remember him doing the "and you all root for the Cubs!" line before, too. Fans probably just assumed he would say "Brewers" and nothing else, so they booed. But who cares, it's all in fun. I'll guarantee he was pissed during the bottom of the 7th inning though. Guaran-damn-tee that one. Yeah it was funny because you could tell Len had to temper his enthusiasm on that Jacque Jones double.
