  1. Jason Marquis is in rare form, even for him, today.
  2. Oh, so he wasn't the one that scored from 1st last night in the 9th? Thats not why the White Sox won the world series in 2005 though.
  3. Great start. The good news is Podsednik is only apparently valuable leading off the game, so he'll be useless the rest of the game.
  4. Sample size. Either that or...Fontenot blows I might be incorrect, but sample should have nothing to do with it. I think the initial question of how that was possible because Soriano has been out the past 8 games, but he played in the first 2 games of the past 10. So he has data. Limited data, but data none the less. Given, the sample size comes into question for consistency of data. Fontenot's OPS for his 20 ab's is obviously a stronger indicator for his performance than Soriano's OPS for his 6 ab's could more easily be a variance from the mean. Edit: So I was agreeing with your second statement. Font blows. Oh, I agree. The point makes no sense. OPS is not a counting stat. Soriano could have had a great game in his last game, and Fontenot has been terrible.
  5. Sample size. Either that or...Fontenot blows
  6. When I started reading that lineup card, I assumed that the poster was making a joke lineup.
  7. Can our starters please start going more than 5-6 innings? That is my only gripe for this team right now...
  8. One of the things thats good is that we haven't gotten one of those "We should have won this game" losses that teams get 4-5 times every year. Last year we had about 4 of them to this point.
  9. Would like to know this as well, wanted to record it but I was out of town and couldn't get a hold of my roommate to set it up on the DVR. I believe they announced on Monday that it was going to be replayed on May 5th. I could be wrong about the exact date, but I know for a fact they said it would be replayed, and I'm pretty sure it was within the first 10 days of May.
  10. Well because Prince is still good and will probably hit 40-50 HRs this year. That said, in your situation its a no brainer to reject that trade. But in a vacuum it might not be a horrible trade
  11. I thought this was a funny line in the NY Post
  12. I'd do it straight up if only to get out of the back end of that horrible contract. I'm not sure people realize how much of a burden that contract is going to be
  13. Lou just said that Ronny will start tomorrow. I can't believe this is my reaction to Ronny starting but - YES!
  14. I'm trying to think of a time when I was more excited about the Cubs. Probably the last time was after Game 4 of the 2003 NLCS.
  15. WHY ARE YOU SO GOOD AT BASEBALL FUKUDOME?!?! 0-2 count turns into a walk. Holy hell.
  16. Torres/Gagne? Oh wait you said good late inning combo.... Joba/Rivera? Delcarmen (is he the 8th guy?)/Papelbon? Yeah, the Cubs are right up there.
  17. He's pitched 11 of the teams 20 games. He is on pace to pitch in 89 games this year
  18. And Matt Murton just sealed his fate with the Cubs right there...
  19. Dammit, Yost is making his ineptitude a little too obvious right now. He's going to get himself fired, and that would be horrible news for us....
  20. It's not the curve I'm worried about. It's the velocity.
  21. That's his third RBI of the season, go figure I love how he was so bad no one wanted him all off season. The Cardinals sign him and right away he is as good as anyone the first month of the season. Unreal. .227 BAA, 1.37 ERA, 10/5 K/BB Btw, Kendall and Counsell are the only starters in the Brewers lineup batting over .268  Weeks .176 Braun .247 Fielder .227 Hall .197 Gross .175 Hart .268 Hardy .214 Exactly, the Brewers bats will pick up. We need to gain as much ground as we can.
