  1. Here is tonight's Diamondbacks starter (with a 5.53 season ERA) last 5 starts: CHC - 3.1 IP, 2 ER NYM - 4.1 IP 6 ER CHC - 5.2 IP, 1 ER SD - 3 IP, 6 ER MIN - 3 IP, 6 ER Pitchers are literally pausing their slumps to dominate the Cubs and then going right back in them If you do the math that's a 3.00 ERA against the Cubs and a 15.70 ERA against the other 3 teams.
  2. 2 runs on 7 hits. Way to show some fight boys!
  3. I thought Dansby was supposed to be the hypercompetitive guy that hated to lose and has veteran savvy from being on those Braves teams. Instead he's basically leading the charge for this collapse with terrible hitting and inexplicable defensive miscues that can be directly tied to losses.
  4. GRCubsFan chose "David Ross is an horsefeathers who is hated by his teammates" as a hill to die on and the board mocked him so much he just disappeared and never returned.
  5. The player David Ross didn't believe that. Remember how he was such a hardass that demanded accountability and effort every game and helped drive a former moderator off this board? But again, we have no idea whats going on behind the scenes, I'm just saying for a collapse they look pretty chill overall. But not sure that means anything.
  6. After this loss Arizona will be 11-10 in their last 21 games: 6-1 against the Cubs 5-9 against everyone else
  7. I dunno, we obviously don’t see what’s behind the scenes but the general demeanor of the team doesn’t seem to match the fact that they’ve blown a 4.5 game lead to out of the playoffs in a 10 day span
  8. Is anyone on the Cubs going to show any concern or seriousness about the severity of the situation? I’m not saying they should be acting panicked but the general comment after games lately has been something like “aww shucks, we’ll start playing better soon. I think we did a lot of things well, just couldn’t finish it off”
  9. Can’t believe in the middle of a playoff race and after playing 100 win baseball for 2 months they lose 8 of 10 games with the offense sucking against almost exclusively terrible pitching. Just can’t be believed
  10. He can’t be that bright of a football guy if he agreed to join the Bears
  11. I think there is enough talent for the Bears to win a game and the coaching staff has no incentive to lose out. At the very least we’ll probably beat Arizona and it will cost us the first overall pick because Eberflus is coaching for his job and Arizona is purposely tanking
  12. I know this would never happen but if the Bears end up with 1 and 2 overall they should take Caleb Williams AND Drake Maye. horsefeathers it, double your chances of getting it right.
  13. Bit nervous about Rutgers. Michigan looked shaky at times this week and Rutgers has looked pretty solid overall so far this year. Should be interesting.
  14. He also has more pass attempts in Week 1 (37) and Week 2 (29) than he had in any game last season (28). He's only getting more passing yards because they are passing more but his Y/A in Week 1 was way down and today was about on par with his average last year. This comes at the expense of the running game which averaged 33 attempts per game last year vs 24 this year. I know you weren't really defending him but the fact that he has 2 games with 200+ yards passing is a hollow achievement (and that's before you consider how unimpressive 200 passing yards in a game is in today's NFL)
  15. Yeah I don't know how you fix processing speed. Yes you can scheme to make it easier for him and/or put a team around him that can somewhat hide his flaws, but that part of his issues are largely on him. If we're scheming wide open receivers and he's not pulling the trigger or pulling it too late, I'm not sure how that gets better.
  16. Every QB in the NFC North has a QB rating over 109 so far this year except Fields who is at 70
  17. I saw all those things too. I believed there was enough talent there to at least improve a little on the timing issues and to use his legs to be a valuable QB with a better roster around him. Of course being a fan of Bears football all my life I have no idea how to truly evaluate QB play. Obviously we see a lot of talented QBs play against us but its different when they are on your team and you are watching them play week to week
  18. I can't tell if Kyle is ecstatic that most people are now on the "Fields isn't it" bandwagon or disappointed that he can't be the contrarian anymore. I'm sure you'll find something else to disagree with most of us about soon.
  19. I would think he’s the backup for a reason. The coaching staff believes he is a better bet to play in the event of a Fields injury. It’s possible they just don’t want Bagent to come in during the middle of a game to make his debut. But that’s why I think it would only be Bagent if Fields is hurt after the season is lost (or once Peterman comes in and plays like…well Peterman)
  20. The Reds lost at least. But either way, the Marlins win means that if the Cubs lose tonight they will end the night out of the playoffs
  21. Check the date
  22. How certain are you that they wouldn't go to their backup QB Nathan Peterman in the event of an injury? Like if Fields is hurt and cant play within the first 10 games of the season I could see them going with their veteran (which would be ridiculous but its Eberflus we're talking about). If its later in the season and the Bears are long since eliminated, I can then see them go to Bagent
  23. With regards to Poles, its usually a pretty bad look to fire a FO after just 2 seasons, especially when you approved (I think) a rebuild/tank in year 1, though I guess Warren wasn't around when that was approved and he didn't hire Poles. Though its hard to imagine they let him hire a second coach after the first one was considered against the grain and turned into a complete trainwreck.
  24. O/U on Tyson Bagent starts this year 1.5
  25. Definitely. And I dont see how the season turns around. The team looks like a mess and players are pretty much mocking his HITS principle.
