  1. ?? Babe Ruth played there. You are getting rid of history and I do not like it. http://www.baseball-fever.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=9453&stc=1&d=1148656126 This is where Babe Ruth played http://www.mlbroadtrip.com/images/photos/august/week5/yankeefront36.jpg\ Babe Ruth did not play here. I realize Wrigley has changed quite a bit since players like Gabby Harnett played, but still. It's completely different since the mid-70's
  2. Have you been there before? Personally I thought the same way as you until I went there. What a dump. Cramped dark narrow concourses, extremely steep upper deck, cramped seats.
  3. Yeah he does. Is he sick? He's kinda lost it mentally
  4. ITS GEORGIE! Do you think he even knows where he is?
  5. The NL chose her in honor of the last time the NL won an All Star game. This was the last time she was relevant.
  6. Where is this theme song they are playing from? I want to say its from the Oscars.
  7. Or he was worried that Ernie Banks would come over and take him out for those "Banks' Basket" comments.
  8. And tonight is a very special night...as we introduce a lost legand.....freshly thawed and reanimated... TED WILLIAMS!! Whoops, too soon?
  9. Is it just me or is Buck really messing this up? There is no way they intended for the managers to get announced before the catchers. And then on the last one he introducted the starting catchers first and then the HOFers.
  10. That raises the question: who would be worse in left of the pair? Interesting battle. Pujols used to be a decent outfielder, but that's half a decade ago. He's not very good at transfering the ball after catching it. Hopefully somebody catches that reference
  11. FUK U DOME! I don't care if he deserves to be there or not, this is badass.
  12. I felt weird watching that pregame speech. It was just...odd. Sadly Brett's speech was better
  13. Corey Hart looked like a huge douchebag during that pregame speech.
  14. Yankee Stadium is so overrated. It's kind of a dump. I know there is a lot of history, etc. but its not even the same stadium it was before the mid-70's.
  15. He probably wasn't going to play anyways having thrown 120 pitches en route to mauling the Cubs on Sunday.
  16. He's a fun loving guy who seems to genuinely like the Cubs. Some of his stuff is weird like his Blue Train thing, and last year when he would try to put jinx's on the opposing pitcher. Seems like something out of Stacey King's book. Overall though I approve.
  17. Yeah they'll try to do it, but much like buying tickets they will try to rip you off. I would recommend going in advance as opposed to doing it on gameday.
  18. I was thinking about this earlier. As a Cubs fan, what is the best possible thing that could happen in the game. My thought was bottom 9, NL up 8-7, Lidge on for the save. He manages to load the bases with 0 outs. Hurdle, having already used all other closers on the team is forced to go to Carlos Marmol. Marmol reverts to April/May form and strikes out the side on 9 pitches to close the game and win the MVP award. Yes Marmol's arm would get another inning of work, but his confidence would be sky high at that point.
  19. it's obviously from after the home run derby last night, photoshopped to look like it was at Wrigley during the day I heard that they already tore Yankee Stadium down and the entire season has been played in front of a green screen I want to know what ballpark I was sitting in 2 weeks ago then! Maybe that's why they gave us all 3D glasses to wear.
  20. I was thinking about this. If they are going to tie the HFA to something, they should give it to whichever league wins the overall head to head interleague matchups. So if the AL wins 143-111, the AL is the superior league and their WS representative should get HFA. Just a thought...better than tying it to one random game. so woody isn't even there? but fonzi is... i was all smiles last night seeing fonzi at the derby! From L to R its Geo, Marmol, Wood, Z, ARam, Sori, Fukudome. Dempster is missing because he was warming up in the pen while the photo was taken.
  21. Yup, so the NL has the advantage the first 3 innings. I'm just worried about a close game in the 8th inning having to deal with Ryan Ludwick and Nate McClouth hitting. most of the regular starters will play 5-6 innings I'm willing to bet Fukudome doesn't make it more than 3-4. Probably Soto too.
