  1. I don't think that is correct. I wish it was, but I don't think it is.
  2. What can we really base it on? The Bears will have 2 new members of the O-line, 2 new starting receivers and a new starting running back this year. There isn't much on paper to judge this offense on.
  3. It won't make us a Super Bowl contender. More than likely Favre wouldn't be nearly as effective with the offensive line and potential lack of running game we have in place. I see way too many botched plays by the O-Line leading to him forcing throws and interceptions. See 2005 Green Bay Packers. We already have a guy that can throw a lot of INTs. I'd rather see if we can develop Orton personally and see how things go. You are right that I think the D can be 2005-esque this year, but how can we guarantee they will stay healthy?
  4. + nice one
  5. One can vomit....right? Typical meathead Bear fan response..as I figured. In all honesty, the Edmonds situation worked better for the Cubs than this one would work for the Bears.
  6. One can vomit....right?
  7. Mystique has a lot to do with it. Some things just go your way. Are you telling me that the Cards were better than the Mets or the Tigers in 06? Heck No!! How many errors did the pitchers for the Tigers make that led to wins for the Cards? Its just weird.....I'm telling you!! I think you are trying to bait us with inane arguments that no person over the age of 12 would truly believe but. MYSTIQUE?!?! What the heck is that? Some cosmic force that makes the Cardinals good??
  8. This part confuses the hell out of me. This is his 21st season managing in major league baseball. We know what kind of manager he is. And he didn't do well with what last year? The only thing close to a "collapse" was the hole the team dug itself into at the beginning of the season, and they climbed out of that, obviously. I think he's referring to the playoffs last year, but I don't really know what Lou did wrong except take Z out early in game 1
  9. And to answer your question, we are ignoring the Cardinals because we are hoping that they will just go away if both sides ignore them.
  10. Lets go over your reasons for the Cardinals winning the division over the Cubs -Cardinals are scrappy -Cardinals have a bad bullpen which some some unexplained reason is apparently a fluke according to you -Cardinals will make a trade, even though their GM basically said they wouldnt -Pitcher coming off TJS will give them boost -Brewers will shoot selves in foot for some unexplained reason -Baseball demons hurting Cubs -Past 99 years is a precursor to this year -Cardinals have won titles in the past (2006 then 1982 then before that what 1967? wow you are old) so that is why they are more likely to win this year Seems quite logical
  11. Completely unrealated to your post, but how many non-Brewers fans realize the ball and glove logo actually spells M and B for Milwaukee Brewers? Such an awesome logo. OK carry on
  12. I predict Lilly hits one in the Crawford Boxes! Ok maybe not.
  13. I think Moehler has pretty good splits at home

    New Mods

Crap, I had a dream that O_O was made a mod and then banned me. My time might be short guys!
  15. And we'll start the second half up 4 games.
  16. Geez did the Padres just bring up their AAA squad for this series?
  17. Myrow, N. Hundley, and Ambres or Rodriguez Sounds like a scary lineup for Franklin to face
  18. "The patented 'Cardinal Pixie Dust'... get some!" Oh come on. He has a career .860 OPS, its not like this is really far from the norm.
  19. Peavy 1.45 ERA at home 4.41 ERA on the road.
  20. Glaus HR #2 3-2 Cardinals.
  21. Yeah seriously....did we give up more or less for Harden? It's even better because the only player we gave up that really hurts us now and really in the future is Gallagher.
  22. I don't think you are giving him enough credit. He's not the Ted Lilly of last year (and to be honest, people that thought he would be are pretty naive ) but after his first 4 awful starts, his ERA is 3.82 with a 1.28 ERA. His career numbers are 4.48 and 1.34, so for the season, including his bad starts he's pretty much at his career numbers. Again, Ted Lilly is not a number 2 starter, but now that we have Harden in the mix, he makes a decent number 3-4 starter. You can bet that he will be our 3 starter in the playoffs if everyone is healthy because Lou will want a lefty. I have a hard time seeing Lou slotting Dempster 4th in a playoff rotation with the season he's having, even if he does want a lefty. I also think there's no way Z and Harden aren't starting 1,2 to make sure they get the most starts... I guess we'll see, though. Yeah, maybe I wrote my post wrong. I think by default Lou's rotation will be Z, Harden, Lilly, Dempster. But I guess it all depends on how things are in late September. Harden could be hurt, Hill could come back and dominate, Dempster could wear down with the high number of innings he's thrown. It also depends on the matchups of course. If we face a lineup with a lot of lefties, Lou will probably want Lilly in there. A lot of righties, and maybe Lilly gets bumped for Dempster.
  23. Dunno. Looking at google maps, it's 2 miles east of where 55 and 294 meet, and is north of Burbank, if that helps. Isn't it the brand new futbol field for the Fire? When he first mentioned the concert I was thinking that new place they put up when Daley razed Meigs Field. A car may be necessary for going out there, although I'd still probably take cabs for DUI prevention purposes. They should have put the Stadium somewhere other than Bridgeview. It was probably the cheapest place for them to build. I bet Bridgeview gave them a lot of incentive to build the park there. The move probably benefits the white suburban folk that like soccer but probably doesn't help the blue collar minorities that enjoy soccer who can't afford to drive to the game park and game tickets. Bridgeview has its fair share of blue collar minorities. It's not like it's Orland Park. No I know, I've been there for a few Fire games. I was mostly referring to inner city minorities such as the city's large Mexican or Polish soccer fan bases.
