Technically both AFC teams in the divisional round would have to have better records than the Bears and both lose in that round since 26 is the 3rd best record of a divisional round loser so its a very narrow path. Almost certainly this scenario would involve a WC playoff win. -
Yeah its really weird that Ross brought a guy he doesn't trust literally at all as a hitter right now into the 4th inning of a game. Also weird that he came in as a pinch runner...maybe its a positive sign that Ross is showing trust in him but it led to him getting picked off for the 4th time in just a handful of games (one he managed to get a SB out of), But as a hitter, you knew he was going to come up at least 2 more times and you knew you were facing a historically great offense and theres a decent chance more runs are needed. Tauchman has also been red hot at the plate lately so your removing that from the game. He's an average baserunner and slightly above average defensive player. I dunno, I think the Cubs will keep Ross no matter what, but his in game management issues are glaring.

lol 26th means that the Bears managed to get to the divisional round of the playoffs and lose. That means they either won a playoff game for the first time in 13 years or they pretty much went undefeated from here on out. Chicago sports owners have won, they've totally trained the fanbases to prefer tanking over success. -
Everyone will get over it quickly. There are some bad reactions on twitter tonight but when people come to their senses its plainly obvious that it was an unfortunate mistake that only put an exclamation point on a very bad 3 inning collapse. I really hope he can shake it off. Last thing we want is for him to start pressing (definitely looked like he was pressing in the 9th trying to hit a HR to atone for the error).

Any truth to the rumor Leiter fell down the Springfield Mystery Spot? I don’t understand. He’s not hurt enough to put on the IL, but they want him to pitch under no circumstances even in situations where you are forced to put Palencia or Wesneski into a critical spot of a game? Are they just working with him behind the scenes to figure out his splitter again? It seems like if his splitter isn’t working he’s unusable but how did it get so far off track?

That really sucks. But also selfishly I hope he can put it behind him quickly. Gotta turn the page and continue being the all star caliber player the last 2+ months
