  1. 32-8 in our first 40 home games 20-18 in our last 38 home games.
  2. Seriously, I'm getting really concerned about the offense and their extended hitting slump. The last time I felt the offense was going well was during the 2nd game of the Pittsburgh series, only 19 games ago
  3. 9 pitches to retire 6 Cubs when it took 38 pitches to retire the Brewers in the first.
  4. Wait what? Sportsline just showed me the Ramirez out. The Cubs are done for the inning??
  5. I hope so. Our offense has looked pretty bad the last 2 games. Who'd have thunk we'd take the CC game and possibly lose the other 2.
  6. It's still relatively possible to clinch at home. Either: 1) Win 2/3 at home Brewers lose 2/3 @ Cinci 2) Sweep at home (to Cardinals team in a death spiral) Brewers lose 1/3 @ Cinci 3) Win 1/3 at home Brewers get swept @ Cinci
  7. Here are the numbers I posted in today's Game Thread... For September: 27th in Runs (54) 22nd in BA (.252) 23rd in OBP (.318) 23rd in SLG (.397) 20th in OPS (.729) 29th in H (111) 21st in BB (43) Still time to snap out of it, but this isn't the offense we've seen the rest of the season.
  8. Did anyone notice the Cubs offensively this month?: 27th in Runs (54) 22nd in BA (.252) 23rd in OBP (.318) 23rd in SLG (.397) 20th in OPS (.729) 29th in H (111) 21st in BB (43)
  9. This could be a good thing. Every Brewers win probably increases the odds that we don't play Philly in the first round. Right now though, I'm just worried about or offense.
  10. Dammit DeRosa. I know a lot of other stuff went wrong. But its still 2-1 if he makes that play.
  11. Luckily the Cubs will still get in.
  12. I kinda hope he is. Even when he was "doing well" I didn't buy into him being a contributor. He has great stuff, but not much control over it. I really hope he spends the entire year in AAA next year unless he's dominating.
  13. Don't they have the best avg with RISP and 2 outs in baseball? If they do, it doesn't seem like it. That's because normally even if your the best, you're only getting hits 29-30% of the time.
  14. We picked a bad time to face the Brewers, they had been slumping offensively for 3 weeks and were due to break out. Meanwhile we have been mostly struggling offensively for some time and I guess haven't broken out yet.
  15. That worked so well for us yesterday
  16. The same could be said for a lot of fly balls.
  17. Don't they have the best avg with RISP and 2 outs in baseball?
  18. Are we going to lose every series at home to the Brewers this season?
  19. Shark at a Harden-like 26 pitches this inning so far.
  20. Whats wrong with Jeff? He's an inexperienced starting pitcher thrust into a setup role for a contender.
  21. DeRosa has committed 4 outs today!
  22. I would really hope not, Id like to see him start at least once more and preferably twice. I think his lack of command is due to the lack of use. I dont want to see him in the playoffs with outings like this, Id rather get him sharpened. If he pitches 2 more times, he will be our 4th starter in the playoffs. I think he pitches once more for 2-3 innings to keep him sharp and have him start game 2
  23. Shark needs to step up, but I'm worried teams pretty much have the book on him and he doesnt' have the same effectivenesss
