  1. Wow that was a horrible strike call for strike 2
  2. Let Dempster walk and put Marshall in the rotation for 09?
  3. BTW, what the Mets are doing is an absolute choke. I've seen the same thing in September 2004 and October 2007 from my Cubs and September 2008 from the Brewers. They just look like they are pressing. I almost feel bad for them, but then I remember they are the Mets.
  4. Marshall has gotten into some trouble, but for the most part has been absolutely awesome tonight.
  5. Or April Lee. How about April Cedeno and August Derosa? Just for fun, I took the Cubs lineup's numbers based on their hottest month this year... 1. Soriano (May) - .345 .386 .672 1.058 2. Theriot (April) - .323 .396 .434 .831 3. Lee (April) - .364 .437 .682 1.118 4. Ramirez (August) - .305 .396 .579 .975 5. Edmonds (June) - .319 .419 .667 1.085 6. Soto (April) - .333 .427 .621 1.048 7. DeRosa (August) - .378 .448 .733 1.181 8. Fukudome (April) - .327 .436 .480 .915
  6. Facing Johan Santana, not many would look good. In Venezuela, Hank White = Michael Jordan, while Johan is merely Ben Gordon
  7. Can you imagine how awesome it would be if April Fukudome came back for October?
  8. Henry Blanco just got demoted in the hierarchy of Venezuelan ballplayers
  9. Those are called Fukucopters....at least the swinging K's are
  10. Hey Len and Bob, maybe Theriot should have not started sucking back in August when he was hitting .320, then he wouldn't have to worry about hitting .300 this week.
  11. No. Cedeno has had a reverse-split (i.e. he's better against RHP) every single year of his major league career. Sorry that was a typo...he's been mostly hitting against lefties this month.
  12. Also....I know its because Fontenot can't hit lefties, and Fukudome is not a regular anymore, but the amount of starts Cedeno is getting lately is interesting. FWIW, Cedeno has put up a line of .321 .406 .393 .799 in September, playing almost exclusively against pitchers who he tends to fare worse against (righties)
  13. This makes sense The first game he did an all reserve lineup The second game he did our regular lineup now the third game, 3 regulars are sitting. I'm guessing the next game 3 regulars that didn't sit tonight will sit, then the last game the last 2 regulars will sit. Cycle will repeat during the weekend
  14. Honestly, I'm more excited to watch tonight's White Sox - Twins game than I am the Cubs game.
  15. Yeah, that'll teach em! Hey if it forces one conflicted person to turn around and sell me their tickets at face value, it was worth it!
  16. Me because: A) I thought his fiery reputation was a knee jerk reaction to the Dusty Baker era B) I think I remember hearing that he had issues with playing veterans over rookies just like Dusty C) I heard he wasn't a great in game manager I guess I can't believe everything I read.
  17. I was at the one game playoff, behind home plate, it was awesome. The whole crowd stayed and cheered well after the game was over, we were dancing in the aisles. I can't remember, but how were tickets distributed for that game. I can remember watching the Cubs lose to the Astros and then seeing a news report showing fans lined up around Wrigley Field immediately after the playoff was official. Did the Cubs really just take first come first served at the box office or was something else set up? I honestly don't remember.
  18. I should also point out that it says times are subject to change, so its more a tentative schedule that TBS is putting up there. But I think my ALCS explanation makes a bit of sense as to why TBS is giving the AL much better placement in the first round.
  19. I think it has to do with whether or not the home AL team playing later that night is on the West Coast or not.
  20. Haha everyone that bought tickets is going to have to take off of work to go.
