  1. Well, I did get in once...at around 11:15. My GF wanted me to get Reds/Cubs weekend summer tickets, so after checking opening day, the white sox, and cardinals weekend games to no avail, I finally got 3 tickets to the July 25 Reds/Cubs game. Terrible seats too. And thanks to Cyno, who offered me up a couple of his bleacher seats to Opening Day for an extremely reasonable price. Cyno, I don't care what Fred Hornkol says about you, you're alright in my book! (just kidding Fred :)). And yes, besides that one time, my 150 tabs haven't gotten me in at all in the 95 minutes I've been trying.
  2. Are you kidding? Sell them now! Do you think the market will be better right now, when unlucky people are panicing about not getting tickets to the games they wanted, or 24 hours from now when they've calmed down and have had time to rationally realize that they will wait out the market and find the best time to get tickets.
  3. Damn man thats crazy, I only had 20 tabs open. This will be my first time ever sitting in the bleachers, Im pumped. Also secondary market for tickets right now is ridiculous. I'm not mad for you...I get to go to plenty of Cubs games, and I'm sure I'll go to my share this year too. It just sucks because I look forward to opening day all year, take off work, meet up early to celebrate and then goto the game. Now I might not be able to do that. The secondary market is ridiculous but it will go way down once initial enthusiasm goes down....happens for every sporting event I've tracked. Yea you luckey ass wrigleyville people :D Id love to go to opening day but living in Galesburg makes it a pain to go to a weekday game. Im pumped though first time in bleachers for Woody and Deros homecoming, and Im going to Busch for the 1st time ever in April. Guess Im losing my virginity this year :D You're only going to Busch Stadium for 10-15 seconds? (sorry bad joke)

  5. My friend just got in and said opening day is down to singles....looks like I'll be breaking my streak of 6 opening days in a row unless I pay a lot.
  6. 45 minutes of nothing...150 tabs open now. I am going to cry...this sucks. I gotta stay away from this thread. I want to throw something whenever I read someone that's already gotten tickets to a bunch of games.
  7. It's bizzarre...my experience is that you either get in a bunch of times right away or you wait literally forever.
  8. It's time like these I wish I was like a Padres fan. Bet they have no clue wtf a Virtual Waiting Room is and why it would ever be necessary.
  9. Somebody hook me up with an extra window they aren't using. C'mon I know your out there. PM me!
  10. I think they just radnomly select certain IPs and just don't let them in. This is ridiculous...now 150 tabs open and nothing in 35 minutes.
  11. I dobut it since since of us still haven't gotten it. You were just plain lucky.
  12. Not at all...every other time I've done this for the last 4-5 years, I've gotten in several times by now...
  13. It's a screw job. All I really wanted is to go to opening day, this sucks.
  14. Some people don't feel the need to exploit other Cubs fans...others don't have the capital to spend on 6 tickets. It's not exploiting anyone, it's business. Also the economy is crap. If you don't sell your tickets after the initial excitment today, expect to take a huge cut on your profits.
  15. If anyone gets through an extra time and isn't using the window, let me know. I have people relying on me to get opening day and I'm not having any luck.

  17. In the past it's said "Chicago Cubs Ticketing"
  18. Good luck making money this year. I'm not even going to bother trying because of the economy. The big ticket games will still be profitable, but you have to be very careful of what seats your buying and how quickly you sell them.
  19. This is the link to buy tickets right? http://frontline.purchasenow2.tickets.com/buy/MLBEventInfo?orgid=5&agency=MLB&trxstate=8
  20. Damn, second year in a row I've been within 1,000 of the selected number...in the wrong direction. Oh well, I probably wasn't going down there anyways unless I was within 300 or so. My goal is opening day, the white sox night game, and a sat or sunday cardinals game in july.
  21. Michigan looking good. They seem to be reinventing their offense into a running offense. They are grabbing rebounds, finding the outlet and taking it right up the court. If Michigan wins, I think it jumps ahead of Minnesota in the eyes of voters They'd both have 7-7 Big Ten records, and in terms of teams they've beaten, its very similar. Michigan has beaten: Illinois Iowa Penn State Northwestern (2x) Indiana Minnesota (if win) Minnesota has beaten: Ohio State Iowa Penn State Wisconsin Indiana (2x) Illinois So it goes back to non-conference. Minnesota went 12-0, but they played cupcakes besides Louisville. Michigan lost 3 times, but the losses were close ones to Duke, Connecticut and Maryland, all decent teams. Then you see Michigan is 3-2 in their last 5, while Minnesota is 1-4 in their last 5 and it becomes clear Michigan should be ahead of Minnesota in the eyes of the selection committee.
  22. Late to the game, but worth mentioning again. I bet we trade for Bosh at next year's trade deadline.
  23. The Tim Thomas era in Chicago is reborn! I wonder if we Tim Thomas Tim Thomas. Bulls roster is now... Rose/Hinrich/Hunter Gordon/Sefolosha/Roberson Deng/Salmons Ty Thomas/Tim Thomas Miller/Noah/Gray/James(Inj) James and Roberson are your inactives, unless the Bulls decide to Tim Thomas Tim Thomas.
  24. Can't you do that buying online? I'm pretty sure Ticket Master charges extra fees for tickets purchased online. So people wait in-line to save the couple bucks? I'd think the time wasted would be worth more to them. Well plus the box office tickets go on sale at 8 and online at 10. For the 1-2 highest demand games, the tickets are usually down to scattered singles by the time the online sale happens. You assure yourself of getting the tickets you want if your wristband is within ~1000 of the winning number.
  25. It's spring training. The meaningless games haven't even started yet. What is wrong with a column like that? Do you really want the "Johnson really worked out extra hard this year in hopes of putting the disappointing 2008 season behind him" article, or the "Smith thinks he's ready to finally put it all together and translate his skills into success at the plate" column? It's better then "lets interview Cubs players about a free agent acquisition that will never happen?" What is tomorrows article, "Chad Gaudin talks about how circa 1927 Babe Ruth would fit on the 2009 Cubs"? Actually, that sounds like a cool article
