  1. See Ryan...when Lou puts you in double play depth...he kinda assumes that you will be too far back to make a play at the plate. So when you get a grounder to you, guess what you do? (I'll give you a clue...its mentioned in the defensive formation you are in). Thats right! You go for the double play.
  2. Oh well good for the Brewers...they get to have an exciting happy opening day win. Kinda sucks that 4 games into the season, we've gotten to see the other team celebrate a walkoff twice now... This loss goes on Lou Piniella at least somewhat.
  3. Thats what happens when the strike zone is so erratic. When you get behind the hitter you pretty much have to throw the ball right over the plate.
  4. Ughhh where was ball 3? Over the middle thats where it was.
  5. Eh...not that I think Lee is the player he was in 2005, but he's not as bad as he's shown. I say at least give him a month to work himself out of it. He's earned that with his 5 seasons on the Cubs.
  6. Either way, if it was close it would have probably been a makeup call for the one last inning.
  7. I'm fairly confident that will be asked Every day, pal, every day. Next question. Look, I would have PH for Hoff too, but at the same time Hoff strikes out more (i think) and I still don't trust him at all against breaking pitches, as he's had trouble handling them in his big league ABs
  8. Trust me...he looked awesome. One of the runs that scored was unearned. The other was your typical solo HR that Rich allows. Other than that, the only other trouble he got in was due to another Theriot error that eventually loaded the bases. He has mixing between 97-91 on his fastballs, and locating them well. It was the Harden of August 08.
  9. Due up for the Brewers in the 9th: Kendall Pinch Hitter (Lamb?) Weeks
  10. Phew. What a tense game! If we end up on top, I will say it was a very enjoyable game.
  11. Aaron Miles pitches. Oh wait. Guzman and Patton are all that is left right? Oof
  12. Well, that botched DP makes up for the miraculous run saving kick by Harden earlier in the game. At least that's how I choose to look at it.
  13. Second straight leadoff walk...now it gets really dicey I would prefer guz.
  14. I would have batted miles but squeezed the run home. In a dp situation with a batter I dont trust to get a sac fly it makes sense.
  15. Well I think we can all say today has been freaking awesome so far win or lose. Milton Bradley got his first hit as a Cub...and it was a long HR Harden has been freaking dominant, throwing in the high 90s and striking out 10 in less than 6 innings so far Our weak hitting backup catcher who we literally have no offensive expectations towards hit a huge 2 run HR.
  16. I think we can all agree that the decision to take Hill over Bako has already been justified even if Koyie goes 0 for the rest of the season.
  17. GEOVANY WHO???? [/is taken out back and beaten to a bloody pulp and left for dead]
  18. Yeah, Theriot is doing a good job of replacing Lee's production last year. Mostly singles, a few doubles for effect, and absolutely no home runs. KOYIE MF HILL!!!!!
  19. How many of our base runners have come with 0 on and 2 outs?
  20. I'm definitely not in midseason form...I thought that was gone off the bat :(
