  1. The Clippers were probably the team that needed Griffin the least. I mean, Griffin will be the best PF on their team, but they have decent depth there with Zebo, Camby and Kaman all with the ability to play that position. Here's hoping this means Kaman is available for the Bulls to consider. Not a bad 3rd option for PF/C this summer.
  2. Is that the knee for Sharpie? If so, season over.
  3. No one has mentioned the 300 level? http://stuy.proboards.com/index.cgi
  4. the Cards are still a threat. Their second best hitter and best pitcher are on the DL as well as their above average CF. Also a problem is that Pujols is in one of the worst slumps of his career, leaving a gaping hole in their lineup. I expect them to be in the discussion all year
  5. I'm surprised Harrison allowed himself to participate in the Super Bowl knowing full well that the NFL would have invited Baltimore had Pittsburgh lost the AFC Title Game.
  6. Yeah but the other forwards that would replace him are simply not as good as a healthy Havlat. But the cap is what it is, and you often have to make difficult decisions.
  7. I just wonder if the salary cap is going to kill us down the road. One of our biggest strengths this year is that we are 4 lines deep. Hell we even have an All Star caliber goalie on the bench in case Khabi gets hurt. With Havlat, Phalsson and Khabi all UFA's this year, its gonna be hard to maintain that depth. If we resign Havlat and Khabi, then we risk not having the space to resign Kane and Toews when it comes up.
  8. LOL. Chicago sports radio went from "we'd rather play the wings than the ducks. Bring them on and we'll crush them" to "well were pretty much gonna be swept at least it's a good learning experience."
  9. I think the Hawks can play better than this but it will still be a short series. All the people who picked otherwise were drinking too much blackhawks kool aid. (I hope I'm wrong!!)
  10. This is kinda what I expected to see this series. Detroit is just more quick and skilled and they play a similar style as Chicago.
  11. It's not a playoff series until Cyno has a missed penalty to complain about :) Just kiddin Cyno :)
  12. Is Milwaukee ever going to lose again?
  13. Why does this whole game feel like it's been 4-on-4. I love hockey like this.
  14. Good decisions, sloppy passing by the Hawks.
  15. Detroits chances of converting in the next few minutes are pretty good.
  16. If would help if we could win a faceoff.
  17. Detroit looked like it was playing at 50% the first few minutes and at 150% since then. We can't even get the puck in our zone, which is exactly what I feared would happen in this series. Their top gear is just better than ours.
  18. Kinda weird that Marshall wells and lilly have been our best starters while Z Harden and Dempster all have eras near or above 5
  19. Not a huge fan of Harden this year. He's nowhere near the dominant pitcher he was last year. Cubs should have gotten 4 last inning though. Oh and the wings score yay.
  20. Actually, I think it is him. I did some more reading on this story and found the guy's blog as well as HIS side of the story. After reading both accounts, I still side with the ballplayer, even if he was as snotty as the guy made him seem. Kid has worked his whole life to make it to the major leagues and he hits his first HR. In my mind, that ball is the possession of the player, even if its not officially. Why some guy would be so selfish to hold that ball for ransom when it means nothing to him and everything to the player that hit it, I don't know. http://thehappyyoungster.mlblogs.com/
  21. I couldn't believe when I read this article how big of a jerk this guy is. He catches Chris Coghlan's first HR ball and demands many things, including a signed Hanley Ramirez bat, a photo with Coghlan, tickets to a Marlins/Yankees game this year and many other things. Coghlan finally had to basically beg that the guy gave up the ball. http://miamiherald.typepad.com/fish_bytes/2009/05/fan-drives-hard-bargain-for-coghlans-first-home-run-ball.html Makes me wonder if the fan that caught Scales' HR ball the other day gave it back without incident. If I caught a milestone HR, I would ask if it was feasible to give the ball to the player himself, but even if I couldn't, I wouldn't think twice about giving it up as I assume most wouldn't. I would have to think twice if it was a record breaking ball like Bond's 756 but the chances of that happening are slim to none.
  22. I'm 4-1 and I plan on attending several more games this year so I'll keep the good times going.
  23. One less game for Aramis Ramirez to miss (hopefully)
  24. I heard Brent Sopel was practicing with the team yesterday. Not sure how I should feel about that.
  25. In the final two minutes of them clinching a berth in the National League Championship. Does. Not. Compute.
