  1. Not to derail the thread further, but I'd be a lot more confident of Vitter's future success if he had more than 5 BBs this year. But the kid is oozing with talent that is really showing right now.
  2. We better pound this clown because we have Lowe and Jurrjens in the other 2 games.
  3. Montreal deserves a second chance at a city. Make them promise to build a new park downtown, hire a good marketing guy, get an owner willing to spend (smartly) and bring back the Expos!
  4. Well Hill does have the second highest OPS on the roster, while Soto has the second lowest OPS.
  5. Philly's Best has the best cheese steak around Chicago. I really wish I could go to Philly to sample the real thing. As for your deli style sub, I'd have to agree with Potbelly's for the chain stores, but there a lot of hole in the wall places that make some great damn subs with the freshest meat and veggies and great bread (which is very very important for a good sub). Subway went down in my book a lot when the quality of their bread went downhill. I still eat there from time to time, but their bread is really dry now, making the sandwhich meh.
  6. They probably did overreact..but I still think when the season is over Milton Bradley will have solid numbers and look like a decent signing. Dumping half the bullpen and trading Mark DeRosa still stings with me.
  7. I wish that movie was available on On Demand. The 325th viewing would be as good as the 1st.
  8. NSBB, help me decide on a movie to watch. I am surfing through On Demand and have seen way too many of these movies. I have narrowed it down to 3 choices. 1. Taken - Not really in the mood for a thriller, but the trailer looked decent. 2. The Rocker - Didn't get good reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, but I am in the mood for a comedy and I would be interested to see Rainn Wilson outside of The Office. 3. Monty Python's Life of Brian - I've been wanting to see this for awhile...I am a pretty big fan of Monty Python from what I've seen (Holy Grail, quite a few of the Flying Circus sketches, And Now for Something Completely Different, and The Meaning of Life). Is this movie as good as Holy Grail, or is it more like And Now For Something Completely Different, which had its moments (and I think is mostly reused sketches), but wasn't comedy gold. I am leaning towards this one, but while I enjoy their work, there are some bits that tend to be dull in my mind and I'm not sure I can handle that. So..any suggestions?
  9. He sounded absolutely pained to say that Pierre's arm is weak. He was like "Well I GUESS he doesn't have the best arm...."
  10. Just for fun...prominent Cubs players by OPS Fukudome .952 Koyie Hill .863 Scales .843 Hoffpauir .821 Theriot .810 Soriano .787 Johnson .778 Bradley .748 Lee .734 Fontenot .717 Soto .611 Miles .515
  11. I just realized that Eric Milton is a notorious fly ball pitcher who gives up a crapload of HRs, who is pitching with the wind blowing in.
  12. I think I finally accepted that its going to happen to any cursed team in any situation when I saw them bring out the "Cleveland Sports Misery" chart at the end of yesterday's Cavs game.
  13. I wish the wind was blowing out...but I think its blowing pretty heavily in. The only way we come back is if we are swinging the bats particularly well. Who knows though, this could end up like the Brewers-Cubs game back in 2007 when the Brewers scored 5 runs in the first off Rich Hill, and were shutout the rest of the game as the Cubs slowly crawled back. Finally, with the wind blowing way in all game, Aramis Ramirez crushed a 2 out HR in the 9th to win it.
  14. Did anyone else see the Gatorade machine run and hide in a corner when Marshall was making his way back into the dugout?
  15. Well Marshall has been awesome this season for the most part and for his efforts Lou has all but sent him to the pen after this start. I wonder if that's affecting him at all mentally.
  16. This looks like a flip back every once in awhile while I watch a movie type of game. My girlfriend will be pleased.
  17. Oof...4-0 on the first hard hit ball of the game.
  18. C'mon Marsh, get ahead in the count, induce the ground ball and lets get out of this down 3. We can come back from 3-0.
  19. Boy Marshall is taking his demotion to the pen well.
  20. First 3 reach. C'mon Marshall, I really planned my Sunday night around this game.
  21. Damn, 2 grounders hit perfectly and Marshall is in big trouble already.
  22. Joe Morgan basically calling Juan Pierre as good as Manny Ramirez. I think I'm putting this on mute.
  23. Why is the performance impossible to equal?
  24. Scales can play adequate defense while they aren't sure about Fox yet. Lou doesn't underrate defense.
