    I get the desire to sign Ohtani, but we can't leave Carter Hawkins at the Winter Meetings by himself for too long. Who knows what trouble he'll get himself into?

    Just watching him play, every pass beyond 5 yards that he makes he looks like he's struggling to loft it over the defenders that are closing in on him. I watched a decent chunk of their game yesterday and once I noticed that its hard not to see it. Russell Wilson is the only QB in the NFL I can remember having any success despite being under 6 feet tall (Brees and Vick were exactly 6 feet).

    Dunno but Julian Fleming also just entered the portal. Was a top 5 recruit in the nation (not just WR) a couple of years ago and was being utilized in OSUs offense though was a bit of a disappointment being behind MHJ and Egbuka on the depth chart. He made multiple big catches in the Michigan game. With the top guys both likely going pro there should have been a huge opportunity for him to take over as number 1 WR next year, though it’s possible Day told him that wasn’t going to happen.

    8 would have been my preferred playoff. No byes or on campus games. P4 conference champions, top G5 champion, and 3 at-larges. Seeing the 12 team mocks out there, does anyone believe that Ole Miss or Penn State (sorry Derwood) should compete for the championship? Looking at it this year (with P5 champions since the Pac 12 still exists) 1. Michigan 2. Washington 3. Texas 4. Alabama 5. FSU 6. Georgia 7. Ohio State 8. Liberty In a deep year for contenders, that accurately captures the 7 teams that can legitimately win a championship (minor gripe about Oregon not making it but they lost to one of these teams twice so I don't hate leaving them out), plus even if its stupid ass Liberty, it gives G5 a legitimate chance to play for a title.

    Right....and now we have a month off before the next "round" which was kind of my point. Next year you'll get conference championship week, then the 1st round next week, QF the week after, etc etc. That said this complaint is purely for selfish fan entertainment reasons. It does bother me a little bit that some teams will be playing up to 17 games now

    Really can’t wait for the 12 team playoff. I hate the fact that we get all this excitement for the conference title game and then have to wait a month for the next meaningful game. I’ve never been a fan of watching the other bowl games even the ones Michigan played in so to me it feels like the whole season just pauses for a month until all of the sudden out of nowhere the season resumes with the biggest most important games. imagine having playoff games next weekend

    Re McCarthy I thought he was legit impressive early this year but he’s a deer in headlights lately with poor offensive line play and potential other intangibles affecting his play. wait what intangibles? Oh well it’s been well documented that he’s been pretty banged up the last month effecting his elusiveness among other things. What intangibles did you think I was referring to? Lol but yeah I’ve come way down on his prospect potential. I think he’ll be an NFL player but to be honest he could spend another year at Michigan to refine his game. He can look absolutely spectacular at times and head scratching at others. Pass on him for the Bears

    I found it hilarious that tonight ESPN just got done saying how Texas and Bama will pass FSU, then they showed their "Playoff Predictor" graphic that showed that FSU has a 97% chance of making the playoff.

    How about Texas just joins the SEC tonight and the SEC has a team in the CFP? Seriously though this is insane…in retrospect the CFP has been really lucky to not have too many controversial decisions like this. The first CFP was controversial, the last one is going to be controversial, but in between it’s mostly been easy

    After seeing Iowa first hand, I now just feel really bad that their offense was so bad. That defense is incredible.
