    Thank goodness for the bye week. I don't even mind i t this year. Yeah, we definitely need it that's for sure. Yep, we have a lot of nagging injuries. A week of rest should be awesome for Briggs and Clark. Pisa and Hunter should presumably be back then too as they were both close to playing today. It didn't look like Hester was seriously injured so most likely the bye week will ensure he doesn't miss anymore time, APete too (hopefully).

    Special teams gets an A+ so far Edit: Actually an A-, I forgot about the penalty on the FG. That was a 4 point loss there.

    Explain why? I know the Bears are better than the Lions, but the Lions have managed to dominate our defense up and down the field, Stafford is making veteran throws. The Lions are playing with confidence, while the Bears are probably shellshocked that they are getting owned defensively on their home turf. Our offense has done close to as good but still you can't just say "they went 0-16 last year". If these were 2 random football teams you were watching and you watched the first half, who would you think was likely to win the game? I know I'm a whiny pessimist so give me your optimism.

    I really thought when we converted on that 4th to get a TD we had turned the corner and we're gonna cruise to a 2-3 score win. But nooo...giving up a 98 yard TD drive pretty much ends any thought of that. It's gonna be a dogfight to the end, and to be honest, Detroit has looked better against our defense than we have against theirs. If it weren't for a ball being thrown right to Harris and a defensive lapse that led to a 60 yard run, we'd be in big trouble right now. Of course those mistakes are why the Lions are what they are but still. They've been able to consistently drive the ball against us with long sustained drives.

    I don't have that weird feeling about this game. No matter the reason, but if Jason Campbell can find himself with 340 yards passing game against the Lions (note: I realize Portis sucked, and the Skins could developed the running game), then Cutler should slice up the Lions defense like a surgeon. The only person that will stop Cutler from making that happening is Ron Turner. So I kind of expecting to see Cutler with a 24-32 300+ yard day with 3 TDs and 0 INTs. Statistically speaking, Forte has shown small improvements from week to week, so I see Matt improving this week to a game of say 23 carries for 90 yards and maybe a TD. Funny feeling yet?

    Stafford with 221 passing yards at halftime. Hes on pace to throw for 442 yards...

    Seriously....as much as I enjoy Cutler, I would die to go back to the 2005 team. A team with a D this bad isn't going very far. Maybe the playoffs but not anywhere else.

    Well it doesn't look good. At least we get the ball to start the second half. But that won't matter unless we plan on scoring every possession or stopping them at least a possession or two.

    That's gutsy to go for a deep ball like that while standing in your own end zone. You really have to trust your O-line there.
