  1. you mean the oilers zone, but eah... that was pretty awesome Yeah Oilers zone...brainfart. I think this is the absolute best time to play a terrible team like Edmonton. We've gone through a bit of a slump (for us) lately, we've had 3 days off so we've had time to practice things and we don't have to worry about the Hawks overlooking the Oilers or giving less than 100% because after 3 days off they should be excited to play some hockey.
  2. LOL the Hawks just did an entire line change without leaving the Hawks zone or losing control of the puck. Dammit...another bad turnover in Edmonton's zone. Thankfully it didn't hurt us.
  3. I enjoy when the Hawks score on the first line of the game
  4. LOL, whatever White Sox fans wanted the Sox to resign Thome are probably thrilled with this.
  5. 30 seconds with Duncan and he has developed a 102 MPH fastball, gyroball and the first ever real bugs bunny changeup, the one that the hitter swings and misses 3 times and strikes out before the ball gets to the catchers glove.
  6. 43-0 0.01 ERA 0.10 WHIP 546 K NL Cy Young, AL Cy Young, NL MVP, after a 77 pitch 20K perfect game against the Cubs, an ashamed Tom Ricketts sells the team to Clay Bennett and the team moves to Oklahoma City. Man I'm so funny.
  7. He's returning to the place where his career took a nosedive and pitched his last game as a Cub.
  8. OMFG GUYS TIM TEBOW HAS STREP THROAT! ESPN is going to begin round the clock coverage in a few minutes.
  9. It's not love, it's interest. And he doesn't get to demand anything. If he signed as the 4th OF he would be a good option. If not, no loss. I'm not sure what the market's like. It's probably not good, but the last i heard he wanted to start. I'd rather have Nady who is ready to sign and accept a 4th OFs role right now than a 36 year old with major defensive issues who has declined and can't hit outside well that summer bandbox on the south side.
  10. I don't see the love for Dye. He's 36 years old, his numbers took a dive last year, there has been a dramatic gap between his home/road OPS the last 2 seasons, and he's awful in the outfield. Oh and there was never a promise that he would accept a 4th OFs role. Last I heard he still wanted to start.
  11. His last partial year in the NL (NL Central to boot), he had a .918 OPS in 327 ABs for the Pirates in 2008.
  12. At least it's a pitcher's ballpark
  13. Maybe Lovie should just take over offensive playcalling. This is Dave McGinnis embarrassing.
  14. He didn't really attack the basket very much at all tonight. The excuse is that the flu limited him and had him exhausted the whole game.
  15. When I saw you had posted last in this thread, I assumed you came to talk trash before Wednesday's Thunder game.
  16. They didn't wipe the floor. Chicago was in it until the end. The yardage isn't that meaningful, since that was essentially what the Bears were designed to do, give up yards but not the big play. lol wat Bend but don't break. The Bears led the NFL in turnovers (or was it turnover margin, or both?) in 05 and 06.
  17. That's awesome but random. I can't believe he was the 2nd best kick returner in the NFC this year. The Bears special teams is amazing if you consider the fact that it hasn't been just one or two guys that have excelled for them. It's Ayenbadejo, it's Hester, it's Manning, it's Knox, etc.
  18. Exciting news. They could have saved column space and just said "The Cubs are interested in many players, but acquiring these players are probably unlikely."
  19. If it makes you feel any better, the Vikings playoff performances finally convinced me that they were an elite team in the NFL.
  20. Not to draw everything back to my team but it sounds like the Bears in 06. They started out really strong, everyone had them as the best team in football after destroying the former NFC champs (seattle), and blowing out some lesser teams by 30+ points. Then some flaws were exposed, the team didn't play all that great towards the end of the year. Finished the season by beating awful Tampa Bay at home in OT, beat the 2-12 Lions by 5 points on the road, and then got blown out by the Packers on New Years Eve to end the season. Even though during all 3 of those games we had the #1 seed in the NFC locked up and thus nothing to play for, not many pundits gave us a chance in the playoffs. Only about half of the media picked us to beat a real mediocre Seattle team at home, and then probably about 80% of the media picked the Saints to mop the floor with us in the NFC title game. Of course this story does nothing to pump up Saints fans as the Bears lost the Super Bowl. But I wouldn't say Indy whiped the floor with us, even though we were outplayed. It was a 1 score game until midway through the 4th quarter when Grossman threw a pick 6. I think the Saints can win this game for sure. They've looked like a dominant football team at times this year, and if they can recapture that for the Super Bowl theres no reason why they can't win handily. That said, I am not sure who I'm picking yet.
  21. Those guys sound like 2 die hard fans calling the game.
  22. It's funny, those people are supposed to be big Saints fans and only like half of them are wearing anything that has to do with the Saints.
  23. You weren't excited for the Bears-Colts? :( Did you just assume it was going to be a blowout? (please make me feel better about my life and lie to me)
  24. Someone's drunk
  25. Nah, it comes down to that 12th man in the huddle. If not for that, it was an automatic run call for the next play and Longwell probably would have come through. Bingo Favre could have tucked it and run, picked up a few yards and gotten them back to where they likely would have been had they not had the penalty. He didn't have to try to force a throw like he did. Bingo. Well Favre was supposedly gimpy after that ankle injury...it's possible running wasn't an option. But he could have thrown it away or made a less risky throw. But he did what has gotten Brett Favre to this point in his career. He saw an opening, thought he could wing it in there and misfired. That's the life of a gunslinger.
