  1. Hawks win! How many consecutive saves in the SO has that been for Niemi? Like 10?
  2. 3 straight chances to win here....score, save or score
  3. Score for the win plz
  4. About time we get one by him
  5. Damn 36 saves for Pavelec. Just gotta tip your cap :)
  6. 3rd shootout for the Hawks in their last 4 games.
  7. POINT BLANK SHOT AFTER POINT BLANK SHOT DENIED
  8. Dammit Sharp almost had a breakaway but the defender caught up to him
  9. The Hawks are so generous to give this lowly Eastern Conference team a token point.
  10. If we don't score in the last minute, we will have only won 1 game in regulation in our last 7 games.
  11. And now we cant get it in the zone the last 90 seconds of the PP
  12. Damn, how did we not score the first 30 seconds of that PP???
  13. This dude is making tons of point blank saves on Hawks shots this period. Unbelievable. Considering how often this seems to happen we must have the least accurate shooters ever.
  14. Good to have you back Kyle. When you know a team is elite, little things like "giving up 4 goals a game" or "not winning games convincingly enough" become frustrating issues even if they are still winning at a decent clip. But perspective is a good thing to have and 8-4-1 in last 13 is more than decent, even if the overall play hasn't been great (to our standards)
  15. what if they can no longer overcome the bad goaltending enough to be an elite team? it's very possible that the goaltending will limit them to being just pretty good Possible but it's been almost as much defensive lapses as it is shoddy goaltending. They were able to play almost half a season and dominate the league despite these goaltenders, so I don't think its impossible to think they might be able to regain that form.
  16. When is this team gonna get back on track...ughh thank God for the Olympics. Let's go guys
  17. I wish he would have been able to buy the White Sox
  18. If the Sonics wanted Pippen so bad they shouldn't have traded him to us in the first place haha. But seriously fascinating story, thanks for retelling it. I remember hearing stuff like this way back when, but I didn't realize how close it came to happening. Kemp's career took a huge nosedive when he left Seattle. He clearly was an exciting player, but in terms of talent, Pippen blew him away. Also Pippen didn't father 15 illegitimate children (that we know of), so that's a plus. I wonder how much NBA history would have changed if that trade went down. Do the Bulls win 3 more titles with Kemp/MJ? Does MJ even come back without Pip? Does he wait out his contract (which I think expired after the 72 win season) and then choose a contender to go to. Do the Sonics win the title? If the Bulls get a 1st, who do they select? There wasn't exactly many good options out there at that point in the draft. You are looking at a Greg Olstertag best case scenario. For once luck was on our side that day.
  19. Yeah he's about 5th on my list too, but none of these other guys look like they are getting traded in season and in the offseason who knows who is going where. We could be stuck with David Lee or something. I'm just saying getting one big name while you can and you're halfway through your shopping list. Also, perhaps Wade is going to resign with Miami in his mind, if we already have a team with Rose, Amare and Noah, it might give him a bit of pause.
  20. I'd rather have Joe Johnson and Amare than Joe Johnson and Lee or Joe Johnson and Taj Gibson or Kirk Hinrich and Taj Gibson. And I'm not big on Amare either
  21. the score just broke this news too. How does this effect the cap?
  22. the fan base was pretty excited about the Campbell signing at the time. Even in here I think Cynosure ripped on me and called me a jealous Wings fan for questioning the deal and saying Campbells defensive game was not very good. Of course Cyno was never the voice of reason. I would also say the fan base was excited because they were spending money on bigger name FAs, something the Hawks weren't known for doing under the old regime. Also like jersey said, the signing was under different economic conditions. Still I remember the reaction being 75/25 positive.
  23. Red Sox? What is a Sox? What a stupid way to spell "Socks"
  24. I still remember the experiment that was Kyle Farnsworth starting back in 1999.
  25. I wouldn't worry too much, though it's possible people may make costly mistakes this year and won't learn their lesson until after this on-sale. Aside from maybe 2 or 3 games, the secondary market profit margin was already slim. If people use this to buy tickets to those games for resale, they're going to lose money. Yeah, with the already high price for premium games (or platinum) games and add 20% premnium to that, buying early to resale doesn't make much sense. Now, if there's a game you really want then paying the 20% might be better than risking getting shut out on Friday. It's crazy how much things have changed in 2005. I remember the hysteria of getting Red Sox/Cubs tickets, as well as White Sox and opening day and any weekend Cardinals game. If you got your hands on any of those tickets, you were going to get a nice profit. Now I don't think the demand is nearly as high. Sure if the Yankees or Red Sox come by, there will probably be some profit to be had, but other than that you can get any game during the season fairly easily. The only tickets I'm interested in February are Opening Day.
