  1. Yeah that's the one thing I just can't make sense of. And even more disturbing is BeerHere thought it was the Cell.
  2. BTW, I think it's funny that the Cubs deserve kudos for not keeping the person who was obviously such a worse choice because we all figured they would botch it.
  3. Chad Tracy it is. Hope Millar entertained the Cubs enough to last the entire season.
  4. I will be trying to get tickets, though I need to look at the schedule to see if there will be weekend home games. As for tonight, I was asked to go out of town for work and didn't fight it. So my wife is going with a friend. I told her she still has to wear the Indianhead though. :-) Worst case scenario you can't go and sell them for a profit. The Hawks could lose the rest of their games this year, with Kane and Toews both out with injuries and Huet getting announced as the starter for all games in the playoffs and you could still turn a profit on them.
  5. Yeah, I only view the forum through "Show New Posts" so if I miss a global announcement the first time it's posted, I won't see it ever again unless there is a response.
  6. This one's not better it's just...odd.. http://chicago.timeout.com/chicago/resizeImage/htdocs/export_images/188/188.x600.feat.baseball.whatifzoom.jpg
  7. I don't think we'll be out of it at the deadline. Well it's not just that. Hendry is not going to trade Aramis if he thinks that he's gonna get fired if the team tanks. There is 0% chance the Cubs are sellers in July unless Hendry gets fired mid-season and the team really stinks.
  8. Yay, I'm an out lier!
  9. I bet the bars around the Butler campus aren't complaining about down business. There are a few very nice watering holes down there.
  10. That's pretty neat Tim. Are you able to download any of these shows/podcasts and put them on an iPod by any chance? I wonder if I'll be able to stream the shows on my iPhone as it has been pretty good in the past at playing most streamable links.
  11. Well I answered my own question from yesterday. Blackhawks playoff tickets go on sale Wednesday at 10 AM. I will definitely be all over that. I don't care how bad they've been playing, playoff hockey is awesome.
  12. If he returns to 2007/2008 form, you think it would be hard for him to get $16m this offseason? In this economy? It's possible he does, but I don't think it's a lock like it would have been a few years ago.
  13. Before last season, didn't pretty much everyone always say that Bradley was a good teammate and well liked in the clubhouse? Link to this? All I've heard was that Kinsler, Hamilton, Young, etc. would have led a mutiny if Bradley came back to Texas last year. Really? I thought I remembered reading that Bradley was a good teammate on the Rangers. I've read that in the past Bradley was generally liked in the clubhouse, but I don't think he was overly loved either.
  14. Gordon is better than this. That said, tt really boggles my mind how Dumars allowed the Pistons to get this screwed up so quickly. I'm not going to pretend I'm a better judge of talent then him, but pretty much every move he's made over the last 2 years has been the wrong one with 1-2 somewhat notable exceptions. He was threatening for years to break up their core and shake things up, and when he finally did, he traded their best player and "glue" to their team. Now obviously I think Dumars was aware that Billups was his best player and had the biggest trade value. And I don't criticize the decision to go for cap space, even if the FA market last offseason looked average at best. But I don't think Dumars fully understood the impact Billups had in running his team. And I see where he was coming from trying to get AI for the season. If he's AI, that's a benefit for this season, but he was building for next season. Now AI blew up in his face, Stuckey I don't think made as big of a leap as he expected and actually looked like he was a rather inefficient scoring option, not one that fit into Hamilton/Prince/Wallace. Wallace regressed and stopped caring, AI was sent home and the result was a 4 game sweep in the first round. So the offseason comes around and Dumars got what he wanted. He had the most cap space out there to rebuild his team around Rip and Prince. But who was really out there? No doubt Dumars was probably hoping that Boozer was going to be available, but he wasn't. Look I'm not an NBA GM, and I don't know what sitting on your money for an offseason does, or whatever. But I can guarantee you that signing Gordon and Charlie V. was not a great idea. I mean how could you imagine that to ever be a good idea? Look at how the team is built now: Stuckey - Needs the ball/needs to take shots Gordon - Volume scorer/needs someone to set him up for much of his scoring/defensive liability Hamilton - Better all around player than Gordon, plays same position, probably doesn't score as well but still above average Prince - Is he nearly as effective on D as a SF without the Wallace Bros down low to protect the paint? I don't watch enough Pistons games to be certain. Good role player, but is seemingly wasted on a team like this Bynum - Decent player, but he's your distributor? Villenueva - Probably a somewhat useful player, but not a very good defender and has been linked with effort issues in the past. He's worth a 5 year deal? Ugh.. And that's basically what the Pistons are building with? Jerebeko was a nice pick but I don't see him being any sort of star. What can Dumars do at this point? Prince and Hamilton are really the only leverage he has to improve the team over the coming years, but their trade value has probably decreased over the last couple of years. I just don't see how they can be competitive over the next 5 seasons without striking lottery gold (which very well may happen).
  15. Geez. I didn't realize that Nashville is only 7 points behind us and Detroit only 8th. Wouldn't that be so hilarious if they both jumped us and we finished with like the 7th seed?
  16. That's a very good point. Although it's not like Kane and Hossa completely make up the entire scoring load for the Hawks. As bad as we looked before the Olympics, there is certainly a marked dropoff in play since the Olympics.
  17. Remember when Bruce Levine convinced fans to write racist letters to Bradley? No, because that didn't happen. SSR's post, however, was accurate. I gotta work on making my sarcasm more obvious. My bad. No, I knew it was sarcasm. It just didn't really make sense to me. It sounded like you were trying to imply that SSR was just saying things that weren't necessarily true to make Bradley look better. No sorry I was just being random. In retrospect, I can see why it really didn't fit there. I guess my point was, although the media had something to do with how Bradley/Chicago turned out, there were other factors at play.
  18. Like when Paul Sullivan went on a spring training broadcast and called him a crazy person. Remember when Bruce Levine convinced fans to write racist letters to Bradley? No, because that didn't happen. SSR's post, however, was accurate. I gotta work on making my sarcasm more obvious. My bad.

  20. I think it's gonna home down to the game in Toronto coming up. Toronto has already clinched the tiebreaker over us, so we are like a game back instead of 0.5 back.
  21. We've been beaten by an average score of 5-3 (cumulative 16-10) our last 3 games against the cellar dwelling bjs
  22. Really Bruce? The media was never unfair to Bradley? Come on. It's dissapointing to hear Bruce say things like these, even though I know he's just sticking up for his peers. I honestly am not sure if the media was actually out to get him from the start, but he's a ball of controversy before he even before the season starts. If you are the media, and he completely acts like a dick towards you from day one, it's human nature to want to screw him over. I'm not saying it's right or even professional to do that but it is what it is.
  23. i know you lovvvve to hate milton bradley, but it was obvious the media was out to get him from day 1. They were completely unfair to Bradley. I'm just making fun of him blaming everyone else but himself for his issues. And honestly, I didn't even really hate Bradley until all of his comments since getting suspended at the end of last year. It's more of amusement than hate. It boggles my mind how someone could have such little perspective of what's going on around him. Or maybe he does and is just delusional, who knows?
  24. Hawks just 2 for their last 22 on the PP. Unrelated question, anyone know when Hawks playoff tickets go on sale? I have looked all over and haven't found a date. Guess they haven't been announced yet, but I find it weird because last year they went on sale on March 31st. Please post on here if you see a date in the coming days. I really need to be all over it so I can go to at least 1 game this year.
  25. I thought the racist fans ran him out of town? Or was it Kanye West?
