    The Cubs have played in 5 straight close ballgames since Monday. For a team with a very young and unproven and probably bad bullpen, that's not a situation that's going to lead to many wins. It's amazing that we've won 2 of them.

    The funny thing is, assuming he fields it cleanly, if Soriano is still in there either Cabrera is out or he doesn't attempt to take 3rd.

    Bizarre that in the first week of the season we had 2 games on CSN+, 1 game on WCIU, and only 1 game on WGN. Two games on WGN (Friday and Saturday). Bah, I didn't watch today's game but for some reason I assumed it was on CSN.

    So I'm looking at the standings in terms of first round matchups. Right now its.... 5. Detroit 43 wins, 100 points (1 GR) 6. Nashville 47 wins, 100 points (0 GR) 7. Los Angeles 45 wins, 99 points (1 GR) In terms of the 7 seed, this obviously only matters if the Hawks can't come up with 2 points tomorrow. But if that's the case, Detroit wins and gets 2 points and they cannot fall to 7th place. So here are the scenarios... 1. Hawks win -Hawks win 1 seed, play Colorado 2. Hawks lose, Los Angeles wins -Hawks get 2 seed, play Nashville 3. Hawks lose, Los Angeles loses -Hawks get 2 seed, play Los Angeles

    OK well we're going to need a win tomorrow. Sharks won the shootout. I'm sure the Wings and their fans would take great pleasure in denying us the number 1 seed. That was a pretty exciting shootout. Sharks went up 2-0 in the shootout, then the Coyotes got 2 back making a save in between, and then the Sharks won it with a goal in the 5th round.

    I am going to game 2. I had tickets for game 5 as well but I had to sell them. I shouldn't have bought 2 games in my current financial situation. I can't wait, I haven't been able to goto a game all year.

    It's that damn Meadowlands/Continental Airlines/Izod Center/Whatever it's called. Bulls are 1-13 in their last 14 games in that place. Thank God it's the last game they'll likely ever play there. The Bulls could lose to a game of 8 years olds on that court.

    Nah. Look at the remaining schedules Bulls: @ TOR vs. BOS @ CHA Raps: vs. CHI @ NYK vs. DET So if the Bulls did win and take a 1 game lead, you have to either hope the Raps lose to one of the two worst teams in the league, or the Bulls have to win out against Boston and Charlotte. It's possible, but likely? No.

    I don't think a random collection of Cubs fans on an internet forum have the ability to affect Cubs games by posting or not posting pictures of the Duke men's basketball team.

    An optimist would say that the Cubs are a reliable 8th inning reliever from being 3-1 so far this year. They have held leads in all 4 games, and had the lead in the 8th in 3 of the 4 games. A pessimist would say the Cubs offense has been pretty bad all 4 games, and the bullpen has blown 2 games already
