  1. nothing is going to happen about this Not gonna to do anything to Miami's situation, but they could change rules so that in the future this sort of player tampering doesn't happen.
  2. Think Dwayne Wade....but take it a notch. Well Wade's divorced and Fisher isn't so I'm not exactly sure what you mean by this. I think I know the story RedFlash is talking about. Apparently back when Fisher was a member of the Jazz he asked the owner, who has since passed, to let him out of his contract due to the condition of his daughter. Fisher wanted to be near certain doctors that LA has that Utah doesn't. Utah decided to let him go so he can be with his family. So Fisher signs with the Lakers and exactly one month after he signs, his daughter was cure of the cancer. Fisher had made it seem that his daughter condition was in dire straights, when in reality by the time he got to LA, he's daughter was already beating back the cancer she had. Apparently Utah would not have let him out of his contract if they knew his daughter was in better condition then Fisher had mention. I don't know if that is what Red heard, who knows, but that is the story that I had heard through different websites I frequent. I don't know if it's true or not, but if it is, the man is as dispicable as Dwyane Wade, if he use his daughters' condition (making her condition worse then previously thought) to get out of Utah because he didn't want to be there anymore. I don't think it's true, to be honest, but that is something I've read on certain sites. So take it for what it's worth. The thing I don't understand with the whole rumor is what's Fisher's motivation? the Jazz were coming off a 51-31 season and made the Western Conference Finals. The Lakers were coming off a 42-40 season where they were hammered by Phoenix in the first round. Kobe was still demanding a trade when Fisher signed as well so it was unknown as to whether or not he would be with the team. Gasol wasn't on the team yet. Andrew Bynum was coming off a season where he averaged 7.8 points and 5.9 rebounds at 19. He wasn't a lock to put up the 13-10 that he did in 35 games the next year. And he took $2M less for the 07-08 season and $8M less total to sign with the Lakers. It just doesn't add up (and I know you said you don't think it's true). He took less money to play with a team that was worse the previous season, was worse on paper going into the next season with a star player who had requested a trade. Sick of being around mormons?
  3. The Lee thing isn't true. I posted it on RealGM and then several people said they heard that segment and he never said it.
  4. I would find this so friggin hilarious if Miami do sign Howard. So far they are 0-1 at signing him. Try it again 11 years later?
  5. I've never watched a 3rd place game before. I never realized the quality of play resembles an MLS game.
  6. I hear he does a killer Jack Buck impression
  7. The Mets just called and said "Nevermind we're just going bring Ollie back up"
  8. The reason the Jazz aren't contending for a championship is because the Lakers have Kobe. The paint is a factor, but it doesn't come close to Kobe. Yup, I gotta think the Jazz would have made it to the finals one of the last 3 years. They are a really enjoyable team to watch.
  9. I don't know if I should admit to it but yeah.... What's funny is that if the Bulls got LeBron and Bosh, the introduction would be so vanilla. Probably not much different than Boozers today.

  11. 300 level thinks it's definitely an either or scenario with hammer and niemi. I have no idea what to do. This sucks.....*goes back to watch SCF highlights on youtube*
  12. BTW, is this the new lower to middle market "moneyball" strategy? To trade for all stars in the last year of their contracts in the offseason, and then trade them again at the deadline when seemingly they are more valuable? Obviously Oakland did it with Holliday last year and now Seattle with Lee.
  13. [expletive] San Jose. Don't they have enough talent already?
  14. I can't wait for this game. I hope Holland wins, but I don't think I'd be disapointed by either squad winning.
  15. The one thing he doesn't have is a city that gives a crap about sports. So what? If he wins a title I don't think he'll say "Wow, I wish Miami was happier." Exactly. And plus, in his presence, Miami fans will act like the biggest happiest fans ever. In Lebron's bubble everyone thinks hes the best person ever, and all fans in his presence adore him. If Miami fans truely didn't care, he wouldnt know about it, because everywhere he goes in Miami, he will be surrounded by people who are "the biggest Heat fans ever". LeBron could walk down the streets of any city in this country today besides probably Cleveland and people would gawk, and when people approach him, they'd suck up to him and tell him how amazing he is. Someone said on tv last night that they don't think LeBron really understands the backlash that is coming his way. In a way I might agree with that, but I don't think overall it is a big deal for him. First of all, he obviously don't give 2 shits what the fans think of him, as long as they buy his products. And also, no matter where he goes the people he sees in person on a day to day basis think he's the greatest thing better, even if they are cursing him behind his back.
  16. If there's a SG out there that can hit 3s and play defense well enough to make up for Rose's deficiencies, I really like them next year. The funny thing about the Bulls was, there was a rumor last summer that the Bulls were close to trading with Utah for Boozer. This was before BG went to the Pistons and all that. Our starting 5 could have been Rose Gordon Deng Boozer Noah Basically we traded Salmons, Hinrich and Tyrus for Boozer. I will never say that this was a bad decision for the Bulls. I thought for the most part they did a very good job of getting the team in the position they were in. Basically they had the best team on paper for him, unfortunately a human element stepped in and prevented it from happening. I'm just pointing the above out because it's funny. I really hope that whatever SG we get is more useful than Gordon.
  17. The Heat have 5 players signed, the Bulls have 6 players signed. It's a little too early to rank the East. I think the Bulls with all their cap space could make a trade at some point to pick up someone. If not its a bunch of shooters.
  18. The city's biggest sports icons will now be umm Grady Sizemore and Joshua Cribbs?
  19. I just refuted this on RealGM, but he definitely said "a few". I heard the audio snipped (it was posted in the current RealGM LeBron thread), and it does sound almost like he says "two". In fact it took me 3-4 listens before I was certain that he said "a few", but I'm quite certain now.
  20. I'd love it for the Reds to shut the Cardinals out of the playoffs, hooray collusion That's fine, I just don't want Marmol shutting the door on the Cubs up to 18 times a year for the next several years.
  21. No but maybe when he stops hitting so many HRs, he'll have worked on getting on base more.
  22. I remember Evan Meek. He was the rule 5 guy that the Cubs teed off on in the 17th inning or something of a game in April 08.
