  1. That league lets you pick up players on FA that soon? In mine all players are on waivers until Wednesday, just to prevent players from doing this kind of stuff. (Unless of course you have waiver priority.) I used to play in a league like that where you could pick up players at any time. It only works in leagues with dedicated players so that it becomes first come first served when an injury occurs.
  2. this quote is really moronic to me- i'm all for trashing lovie over not challenging that, but what is this clown talking about? it was a mistake by the refs before it was a mistake by anybody on the bears sideline. defending refs by saying the bears screwed up by not challenging their screw up is pretty funny. Yeah but refs screw up multiple times in each football game played during every week of every season. That is the reason that the challenge system is in there, as a way to limit the damage done by ref mistakes. I agree that the refs called that wrong, but Lovie has got to neutralize the impact of a mistake. And in a situation where you are talking about a potential TD and a potential reversing of a turnover, it makes no sense to not challenge it.
  3. Because he doesn't want Bradshaw to beat me. Fine give it to Jacobs, I don't care. He steals half of Bradshaw's carries anyway even though he's a poor sport and throws his helmet into the stands.
  4. omg why are the Giants throwing up 18 in the 4th quarter against a team that looks like it's given up. I am going to kill Coughlin. The fumble helps tho.
  5. I know no one cares about fantasy, but I came into the night with a 65 point lead AND Bradshaw going, he had Smith, Manning and Giants D. The lead is down to under 15 points. Just run Giants.
  6. I think its playoffs or bust for Lovie and Jerry probably has enough leeway to stick around if their season ends like last year with a positive finish.
  7. Eh. No doubt he had a poor day. But I can't give up on him because everytime I do he has a game where he completes a bunch of passes that 90% of the qbs in the league can't. I need to see what he can do with an average line and competent receivers before I start regretting his hire. I have no doubt orton would have looked just as bad out there yesterday.
  8. An odd move? The Bears didn't want to hire Martz. Nobody but him wanted to be OC. Hell, they couldn't get a DC either, and Marinelli had to go from D-line to DC. It's not an ideal coaching staff because none of the top assistants wanted to come in and coach under a lame duck HC. It wasn't like they hired Martz cuz they thought he was the right man for the job. I'm sure there was someone else that could have taken the job....even if you have to dig down a bit and get someone who isn't considered a hot OC prospect. The question is, would u rather take the chance of having your OC being overwhelmed by the position, or hire someone whose offensive philosophy is the complete opposite of what the Bears need with their talent dispersed the way it is and is also known as being extremely stubborn and unwilling to change much of his scheme to fit a team's strengths. It's a tossup...the Bears probably had some assurances that Martz would make some adjustments to fit the Bears personnel so they went with him.
  9. From the looks of Chicagosports.com, it looks like the media is turning on Jay Cutler...and that's not a good thing. David Haugh's piece is especially scathing in its critique of Cutler's decision making. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/ct-spt-1025-bears-haugh-chicago--20101024,0,7544443.column
  10. BTW, whoever it was who said they were going to be taking the defense going against the Bears in fantasy each week has gotta be really thrilled today. 7 PA, 4 Sacks, 4 INT, 2 Fum rec, 1 TD. In my league that's 36 points.
  11. I'm in your boat except michigan didnt play this weekend so that was nice.
  12. [expletive] Lovie's press conference are worse than pointless. They actually make things worse. I hate his stupid emotionless nothing is wrong press conferences.
  13. I could not believe there was no challenge. It wasn't fathomable that you wouldn't make that challenge. Incompetence is the perfect way to describe it. This is the NFL. They can do better. We deserve better. I understand if Lovie didn't want to lose the challenge and lose 2 timeouts in a row. But he shouldn't have challenged the first damn play. And that's a chance you take. It's either 7 points or 0 points and you don't have the ball. You still had the lead at that point. If you go up 21-10 who cares if you have 1 timeout. If you don't get the call, you still have the lead and were in position (a few more times) to score and make the timeout situation moot. Well if they go up 21-10, they still have 2 TOs
  14. I could not believe there was no challenge. It wasn't fathomable that you wouldn't make that challenge. Incompetence is the perfect way to describe it. This is the NFL. They can do better. We deserve better. And this is what's wrong with Lovie Smith. I'm sure the reason why he didn't challenge it is because he challenged the previous play and lost. That play has nothing to do with this one. Replays showed that not only did it look lik eCutler crossed the goal line, that his forward progress was clearly stopped before the fumble. He had 2 outs there and elected to sit on his hands.
  15. when the hell is their bye then? OK turn definitely into probably still in 1st.
  16. At least I'm pretty sure GB beats Minnesota Chi 4-3 GB 4-3 Min 2-4 Det 1-5 then its a bye week for GB and Chicago Chi 4-3 GB 4-3 Min 3-4 Det 2-5 Then its buffalo, assuming chi wins Chi 5-3 GB 5-3 Min 4-4 Det 3-5 So unless the Bears lose to Buffalo (which is definitely possible), they are guaranteed to be atop the division until November 13th Ok for one, GB looses tonight. And 2nd, the Packers play the Jets next week so that leaves GB at 3-5. I'm playing "worst case scenario" where even if everything goes wrong, the Bears will still be in first place for another 3 weeks unless we lose to Buffalo

  18. You know what's funny? The Bears are all but guaranteed to remain atop the NFC north for another 3 weeks unless we somehow lose to Buffalo.
  19. Turn over the ball 6 times, don't except to win the game.
  20. I woulld have rather have gotten Cincinnati'd than lose like this.
  21. Hahah this outta even up Cutler's TD-INT ratio.
  22. Damn you Redskins for taking away our only shot to win the game.
