  1. ahhhh i can't stand how you keep mispelling "lose". Sorry.
  2. That game will mean something even if Chicago wins. GB would conceivably still be fighting for a WC spot and Chicago should be fighting for a first round bye. And it could be a precursor to a first round rematch with the Packers. I'd be willing to bet that if we win tonight and loose to the Jets (likely), Lovie limps into GB resting a good portion of this team If that's the case then it will probably make the week after that game the meaningful Bears/Packers game, but this time in Chicago.
  3. Get your popcorn ready. I predict sulleys post count is going up by 100 tonight. I'm praying to God for his kids' sake that the Bears win tonight. See I don't think it really affects him as much as he makes it seem. I think the pre-emptive ''woe-is-me" attitude has strangely worked as a terrific coping mechanism for him.
  4. I'd rather listen to broadcasts with Joe Buck and Hawk Harrelson all year than listen to Judd Sirott in the booth with anyone, including one of my favorite broadcasters all year.
  5. Get your popcorn ready. I predict sulleys post count is going up by 100 tonight.
  6. Either way, how does it help the Vikings to pander to Favre and let him start when there's no future as him as QB, when it helps the team more to see what they have in Webb? As anti-Favre as I am I guess I can understand a QB of his magnitude on the league to be given one last chance to start a game on his terms. Why not do it the last game of the season when he would have 2 more weeks of healing on his shoulder so he can go out with his best possible performance? So he can play in front of his home fans who hated him for 16 years and now sort of like him but will slowly detest him again once the memory of his Vikings tenure is a mere footnote in his career?
  7. BTW, I'm not really buying this whole "Brett Favre upgraded to questionable" thing at all. Reminds me of last week's "good thing the game got moved to Monday, it will give me 24 more hours to hopefully heal so I can play" media reports.
  8. Tennessee is still alive? That's awesome. I'll be rooting for that scenario just for kicks. If either the Colts or Jags win another game, we're out. Even then, I'm not 100% certain that we'd win the tiebreakers over the Colts and Jags if they both lose out. The scenario where the Titans win out and the Colts and Jags lose out has all three teams at 8-8. Actually, on second thought, I think we'd lose the tiebreaker even in that scenario. I believe the Titans/Jags/Colts would all be 8-8 overall and 3-3 in the division and would each have split head-to-head matchups. However, the Jags would be 7-5 in the AFC, Indy would be 6-6 and Tennessee would be 5-7. So I think the Titans are eliminated no matter what we do. I just ran it on the playoff machine thingie and if the Titans won out and the Colts and Jags lost out, the Titans would in fact be division champs. It goes division record, common opponents, and then conference record I believe when determining divisional ties.
  9. I'm not gonna lie, I'd be willing to try, just to see how much more worked up you can get. I honestly envision you repeatedly pounding your fist on your desk as you post these comments. coincidentally, i honestly envision you repeatedly pounding your underbite teeth against a can of chili as you try to open it As long as it's Cincinnati chili and I'm clothed, I'm ok with your day dream.
  10. Oooo, that's a good one. Longwell hits a game-winner as the clock runs out. No, check that. Gould misses a 26 yarder late because he slips as a result of the field. And then concusses himself, but the Bears are too cheap to replace him so they have noodle legged Maynard kick for the rest of the season. Bears trail GB 17-16 with 2 seconds left as Maynard attempts a 25 yard FG to make the playoffs and it falls short and the Bears go home crying. /sulley
  11. That's a toughie. How many Bears players get concussed in the process?
  12. Sure you can reverse it. Official inactive lists aren't due until a few hours before game time, so I would think until then its all tentative.
  13. That's kind of silly if that were the case. Most of the Bears defense has faced Favre numerous times in the past, and while they might not be as fresh in preparations as if they had prepared for him all week but everyone at this point knows the basic gameplan to face Brett Favre, and the Bears have had a ton of success stopping him over the last 6 years (7-2, with one of the losses coming on the same night as Rex's NYE party, since 2005)
  14. Northwestern would be guaranteed a berth in the Big 10 championship game every year but I'm not sure it's that fair to have a 10-team division on the other side. Someone already made that exact same joke-fail To be fair, he almost certainly has me on ignore :)
  15. You pussies. Get out there and play some football. So the turf is a little rock hard. Back in the day, it was -30 degrees in December and we didn't have "heating coils" under the field. We used to dive head first off our benches into the ground without our helmets on just to get mentally warmed up for the game. Then they invented smelling salt and those [expletive] ass "doctors" said that slamming out heads into concrete wasn't good for your long term health. Screw long term health, I don't want to be 80...dem's the diaper years. I'd rather be brain dead during those days anyways, if not dead dead. Now get out there and play some football. And take off those damn shoulder pads, you told you to wear all that padding, your mommy?
  16. I'm not gonna lie, I'd be willing to try, just to see how much more worked up you can get. I honestly envision you repeatedly pounding your fist on your desk as you post these comments.
  17. I don't think the answer will be up for debate until Joe Webb has at least 3 Super Bowl rings of his own.
  18. Your own punter described the conditions as "walking on concrete", said that "anyone who hits their head on the turf is getting a concussion" and publically hoped that "no one gets catostrophically injured at the trainwreck that's about to take place", so I'm guessing Bears fans aren't the only ones that are worried about head injuries. All that said, I'm hoping that you are able to say "I told you so" regarding player safety tonight.
  19. I think his affection for his home state and his affection for his favorite team are colliding with disasterous results.
  20. Tennessee is still alive? That's awesome. I'll be rooting for that scenario just for kicks.
  21. NFC NORTH CHAMPS!!!!!
  22. Unless they make a major leap up in the standings they absolutely should keep building for the future by the time the trading deadline arrives. Two wins are much less meaningful than 40% of a disappointing season. They are only 2 points ahead of 2 teams with 4 games in hand each. The playoffs remain very much in doubt. Yes but based on the fact that we won the Stanley Cup last year with a majority of the "key" players returning, it's more likely we play much better the rest of the year than how we have. Last year from January 9th to March 30th, the Hawks posted a 15-12-4 record, and a goal differential of -7. And yet somehow they put it together and started their playoff run to the Stanley Cup 2 weeks after that stretch ended. This year the Hawks are 18-14-3 and have a goal differential of +8, which is 5th best in the conference (albeit in 3-4 more games). No doubt we've played shitty, but its a long season. Do I think the Hawks are going to go 37-10-4 the rest of the year, which is what the Hawks did around that mediocre stretch last year? Probably not, but I think they will play better at some point this year and will position themselves to be somewhere in the 4-7 range when the season is over. As we know the playoffs are a semi-crapshoot, so just getting in and being considered dangerous is fine by me. As it stands, the only team that I'd be less than certain we could beat is Detroit.
  23. That is terrible. He was joking? I think? If so you could put schools like NW and Indiana in the students division, and then the schools that care passionately about football and probably pay for the majority of their players in the other. But I don't see a 10 team division and a 2 team division being pretty fair.
  24. I dont know if many of the Vikings have any beef with any of the current Bears other than Kreutz and Pat Williams. As much as I want to build up the Vikings and Packers players as gigantic douchebags, they aren't any different than any other NFL team. Maybe they don't have a lot to play for, but I doubt any of them are going out there trying to concuss somebody. They will probably play a little freer out there though, so we need to watch out for that. we also need to stop pretending that the Bears/Vikings or Bears/Packers rivalries are as big as the Vikings/Packers rivalry. Never. Bears and Packers were rivals before Minneapolis was even a viable NFL market. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Packers/Bears seems to be the chief rivalry among Packers fans in the Milwaukee area and points south, and Packers/Vikings seems to be the biggest in most of the rest of Wisconsin. Although the Favre thing in recent years temporarily had Packers fans unite in their hatred for the Vikings.
