Whatever, its still in the same region. It has more importance to LeBron than like Chicago or something. You can't deny there is an emotional tie to Cleveland, as he mentioned quite a few times when he still wanted to be a Cav. I could be wrong but the quotes about Cleveland not being his hometown only came the last year or so.

Yup same here. It was something like an 18 inning game and everyone starting joking on this board that harang's career is about to be ruined. And not surprisingly it was. I'm pretty surprised he went public with that though, considering he's still an active pitcher and unless he doesn't make the team will surely cross Dustys path again.

I don't think people in the national media respect Geo all that much. I know he won ROY and started the ASG in 08, but I think he's been forgotten about due to his poor 09, the various injuries that has really kept him out of the lineup a ton the last 2 seasons, and the fact that Lou all but made Koyie Hill the starting catcher for a time last year despite Soto playing awesome. -
I was just reading the thread from earlier in the day. Did someone actually say that Illinois fans, particularly in this thread, are setting their expectations too low for Illini basketball and accepting mediocrity?? Is this opposite day? Next someone is going to complain that erik is too laid back during game threads.

Yea they were discussing that a bit on realgm last night. They were pasting quotes from a hornets blog where fans were just ripping on Rose. I know I am saying this through Rose (pun intended) colored lenses but I gotta wonder how much of it is them feeling threatened that they might not have the unquestioned best PG in the NBA.

There are A lot of really entertaining teams in the NBA this year it seems. I feel like anytime the Celtics, Heat, Magic, Lakers, Spurs, Knicks, Clippers, Thunder and Mavs (not to mention my Bulls) are playing, I get engrossed watching them. It's beginning to remind me of the 90s NBA again with a lot of great teams with strong entertaining personalities.

I don't know maybe. They can't really afford more than 1-2 losses the rest of the way, and they still have games at Illinois, at Minnesota and vs. Wisconsin, not to mention vs. Michigan State. Can't see them making it, but they have impressed me this year.

1 point isn't enough, and yet that is what we get. Hawks lose. Turco was 0-3 in the shootout, getting fooled badly each time. The Hawks are still in 11h place and 2 points out of a playoff spot. Hawks blow a 3-0 lead and after 3 quick goals, do not score again the rest of the game. I cannot express how infuriating this game is. Looks like a lost season for the Hawks. Any good offers for Seabrook out there?

Wow...hawks take a penalty when they fling the puck into the crowd. Then a few minutes later, on a shift change, a hawks player passes the puck down ice and it hits the skate of a player coming off the ice.

Another game where we lose a goal on a questionable call and the opponent gets a questionable goal. Just awful luck this year. We are still 5th in the NHL in goal differential

That and MJ didn't quit in the playoffs and then create a TV show where he announced he was leaving Chicago to play with Barkley and Ewing in Miami. LeBron was generally liked by a majority of NBA fans until the Decision.

I feel interest in the Cubs greatly declining over the last year, but I don't see the Sox even coming close to take over in popularity.

Yup his level of excellence right now in rare air. Most the time theres 3 levels of stardom, the elite stars, the superstars, and the stars. Right now LeBron is playing at his own level and the last time we've seen it was with MJ, when back in the early 90's bukie's rankings would replace Lebron with Jordan, and CP3 and Rose with Hakeem and Malone. In that era, there was Jordan and there was everyone else. And now it seems like that's the case with LeBron. Only people aren't in awe of him, and instead only want to discredit him because he's a POS.
