It's too bad there isn't an NCAA tournament berth available for the winner, correct?

And they have games in hand on just about everyone (only Dallas has played the same amount). Yup, but likely the hardest schedule. I definitely think we'll make the playoffs but its not at all going to be easy.

So that worst case scenario I was talking about on Thursday is almost about to happen. Of the 5 games involving our playoff competition, all of them have gone against the Hawks. The last remaining game still in doubt sees Calgary with a 2-1 lead over Vancouver in the 2nd. The Hawks are now 1 point from not being in the playoffs.

I think they are in now, but still probably playing in Dayton in a few games. I'm starting to get worried even though everyone says michigan is in.

I'm sure they do but I would guess that 80% of the teams that played OSU this year thought afterwards they had a good chance to win and could have won. Michigan lost to them 3 times by like 15 total points. Oh well. I'm a pessimist so I gotta cheer for MSU here in case somehow the committee decides there should only be 6 Big Ten teams even though everyone and their mom thinks Michigan is in

Ohio State is not this [expletive] good. Aghhhh I cant wait until they lose in the Sweet 16 or something.

Is MSU 1 cause of their win today? They dropped all their early test. Not a better record then Mich or Ill. I guess I'd go Mich, Ill, then MSU, but MSU's name holds more weight. I guess they're all about equal. PSU still needs 1 more win at least, if not the 'ship. Like I said those 3 are all about the same. I put Illinois over Michigan despite the win today because they have a slightly better resume than Michigan. Put MSU above Illinois because, I dont know. They have similar resumes and I didn't want to put Illinois first after losing today combined with MSU whipping Purdue. Horrible logic I know.

Stealing the honor from bukie, but the Knicks are now the only team that the Bulls haven't beaten this year. They will have to wait until the last week of the season for their final opportunity, and its in NY. Pretty awesome though that we've beaten 28 of the 29 teams.

All 3 teams that we wanted to lose tonight won. This playoff race is really tough. So....Chicago has dropped to 5th and is in a 4 way tie (in terms of points) with 4 teams (seeds 5-8). The Blackhawks playoff cushion is now down to 2 points over Anaheim. Coming into the week we had a 5 point cushion and I think held the 4 seed by 2 points. What a difference 5 days makes. 4. Dallas 82 68 5. Chicago 81 68 6. Los Angeles 81 68 7. Phoenix 81 69 8. Calgary 81 70 --------------------- 9. Anaheim 79 68 10.Nashville 78 68 11.Minnesota 77 69

Yeah, I guess we should start talking about whether the Big 10 can get 7 teams. I don't know if PSU can feel too comfortable unless they win tomorrow. I think Michigan, Illinois and Michigan State are all in, but all 3 of them can sweat if PSU wins tomorrow. I think the hierarchy of bubble teams at this point is MSU, Illinois, Michigan, then Penn State, but PSU went from barely on the radar to last 4 out/in range.

To the Sixers, no less. Pull it together and dispatch the Hawks, Bulls. What does "to the Sixers no less" mean? Philly is pretty damn good. 31-18 since their poor start and 17-6 in their last 23 games. Boston should have won but its not a monumental upset.

LA wins, making them the 4th team with 81 points. If Dallas gets 1 point tonight, the 4-8 seeds will all have 81 points

Now its just sweating out whether they will have to win the play-in round to get to the field of 64, or if they are "in" in. I'm gonna guess they are in.

I'm sure I'm talking about of my ass, but: better overall record, 9-3 in last 12 games, and head to head win on neutral floor vs. win against UNC, h2h win, better RPI and SOS is that the argument? Last 12 is meaningless. Almost as meaningless as overall record. For the record, I think Illinois has the better resume. I'm just listing the variables out there, not necessarily what the committee looks at. However, I could swear the committe looks at how you've played over your last X number of games and that plays a factor. Am I wrong? I'm sorry Michigan doesn't get into the tourney enough to know in detail how the process works. I'm about 99% sure that both Illinois and Michigan are in.

Illinois is still gonna make the tourney, but do you even want them to? My best friend is just about the biggest illini fan ive ever met and even he's apathetic at this point.

Wow...sorry Illini fans. I learned what my friends hvae been bitching about all year first hand. I root for Illinois over every team but Michigan. Michigan 2 NCAA Tournament appearances in 3 years after none in 12 years. I'll take that!
